The wrong lover

Chapter 28

- Peeta's PoV -

It has been some weeks since Katniss woke up from her little coma. Her arms have fully healed and she has been taking some lessons to try to learn to use them again. They are pretty weak from not being used in awhile. Her legs are almost fully healed but she is still using a wheelchair when she is too tired. She is also getting some help trying to relearn walking. Every single time she walks slowly to me I compliment her. Not everybody would have the strength or motivation to move on from what happened to her. Today is also a really big day, Snow's execution. It's only some hours until the moment where one of my bullets pierce his skin, going through his heart. I hate him so goddamn much, but I don't know if he is the worst out of Coin and him. 

I wake up from my daydream feeling Katniss lips on mine. She is still having some nightmares or flashbacks from the memories Snow made. We pull apart as she slowly walks back to her bed. She has a hard time catching her breath. I am sitting in a chair towards the wall and Katniss bed is only a few feet away. 

- Good job Katniss. I say to her.

- Not that good. People can normally walk for hours. I can barely stand and walk for a minute. She replies.

- Well every step you make will only make you stronger. I say to her causing her to giggle.

I stand up and walk to the bed where I kiss her passionatly on the lips. We pull away after two minutes. I love her so much I wish I didn't have to pull away to catch my breath. She looks deeply into my blue eyes and I do the same to her grey.

- I love you Katniss. I say leaning forward to continue our kissing.

- I love you too Peeta. She says before I close the space between our lips, I pull away wanting to remind her of the big day today.

- Remember today is the day of Snow's execution. I say before hearing the door open.

- Coin requests you two. Boggs says.

- We better get going. Katniss says signalling me to get her wheelchair.

I go and get it for her and help her get in. I begin pushing the wheelchair for her and Boggs moves out the door to the side so we can get out.

- I can do it myself Peeta. Katniss says and I take my hands off.

She begins pushing her wheelchair on her own. If she makes the entire rest of the way to our meeting she really improved herself. We get to the end of the hospital were we see Lillian and Prim.

- Katniss! Prim says running to hug her.

- Hey little duck. We can talk later but now I have to go. President coin wants to see us. Katniss says kissing her forehead.

- Okay. You exicted for Snow's execution? Prim asks us.

- Yes, we are. Katniss answers for me.

- Bye Prim. I say as Boggs opens the door for us.

She pushes herself out and the streets are pretty filled. Many rebel soldiers still haven't moved back to their district. Katniss looks around seeing all the changes, I mean she hasn't been outside in like a year. She looks at me with amazed eyes and I just nod.

- Is this what the outside looks? She asks like a kid.

- Yes it is. They did some changes after they invaded the Capitol. Come on the mansion is this way. Peeta says following Boggs.

- Katniss PoV -

I pick up my arms and I try to roll my wheels but my arms have lost all energy. I don't want to ask him or Boggs but there is nothing else I can do.

- Peeta. Can you come help? My arms gave up. I ask him.

- Of course. Peeta says and walks back some steps.

Boggs looks at us and after he looks at his watch, I'm guessing he is a bit impatient with us. I don't really blame him for it. Peeta comes and begins pushing me.

- Thank you. I say to him and he smiles at me. 

As we enter a crowded area I get a lot of looks from strangers. I mean they haven't seen me in forever or gotten an update that I was alive. Only my close friends and family did, also president Coin and Snow. I don't know why they gave Snow that information, maybe only to rub it in his face that his plan to eliminate me failed.

We get to the mansion gate and Peeta as strong as he is lifts up the wheelchair in the air before carrying it up the stairs. I just want to kiss him right then and there. Boggs opens a big door and Peeta pushes me in. We both look to see all the victors there, many give me looks and some have tears in their eyes. That's when I realize only Haymitch and Peeta knew I was alive.

He takes me to a chair near Haymitch and stops. He reaches his hand out to help but instead I push my body up and move myself to the chair. He gives me a kiss on the cheek before heading to the other chair next to me.

- Now you may all wonder why I braught all of you here? I am asking for vote on a new Hunger Games. A Hunger Games that only uses Capitol children instead of district children. You may now all cast your vote. Coin says and I'm still trying to process what is going on.

- Snow's got a granddaughter, I say yes. Johanna says, but I just think, Snow's got a granddaughter? 

- I vote no, we have to stop seeing ourselves as enemies. Beetee says. 

- I vote yes with Johanna. Enobaria says, I didn't even realize she is here. 

- I vote no. Annie says.

- I vote no with my Annie. Finnick says looking at her with his beautiful smile.

- I vote no with Annie. Peeta says, I know what to vote on.

- Katniss? Haymitch? It's up to you two. Coin says.

- I vote no. I say and Johanna looks shocked.

- After what the Capitol did to you, you vote no? Johanna asks me.

- Yeah. Snow did it, not the kids. I say on the brink of tears.

- I vote no with the Mockingjays. Haymitch says.

- That settles the debate, there will be no Hunger Games. Coin says dissappointed, at that moment I knew she wouldn't be any better then Snow. She has to be eliminated before she rises to power.
