The Advert Incident

This is a memory I try to repress. This incident was well one of my lowest moments, it was one where I was in the moment and nothing was holding me back. I bet you're all like "FFS get on with the story already". So here in the UK, you may have them in other countries we have these adverts and they are in a little frame and they can swing back and forth. I may be able to link a picture if you don't know what I'm on about. So I was walking home with my friends and on route to my house there is a little convenience store with 3 of these adverts. And I was like "lol guys wouldn't it be sooo funny if I ran into that like a dog flap" so I took a big run up. I made a few errors, 1) I had picked the one that was I tiny bit too small, 2) I had a backpack on. So I do this run up and BAM! I got through. Oh wait I hadn't, I was stuck... in the advert. I was stuck, I had these year 8s walking past just staring. Staring with such disapproving eyes. I was, to put it quite simply humiliated. Luckily I managed to get out (somehow) and I walked home completely mortified.

...
Now at this point I would end my story, but unfortunately it's not the end. So we still take the same route today, and the exact same adverts are still there. So a few months ago I said to my friends: "remember when I ran through that advert" so I'd forgot that I had got stuck and none of my friends reminded me, secretly I think they just wanted me to do it again. So I stupidly said "ha ha maybe I should do it again for old times sake" *pauses for laughter from my dumb actions*. I had remembered that one of them was way to small for me; so I picked the big one. This was a newspaper advert. So I take a run up. And then I remember BASH! My head gets driven into this advert and I don't go through. You know why; because it was nailed to the frame. It was literally locked in place. I could hear a little 8 year old laughing at me... my head was throbbing. Also I may have accidentally damaged the actual sign. Oops. There was also one other thing that makes this story so unbearable... I thought I was going to be arrested for vandalism. *pauses for more laughter*. As when I got back up I realised there was a camera. (I bet the shop workers had a great time laughing at a teenager running into a sign). And I was so scared that I was going to be punished for running into a sign. Nothing happened I was fine. I'm not fine I'm permanently scarred from that horrifying incident!

I'm good now... I think. The advert has a slight dent but it's all good, and before you start wondering I haven't done it again. Sorry I haven't been posting much, I've been a little busy with school. fun.fun.fun. so yeah have a good day everyone!!

Thank you
