Note: the fact that you can't cross out words break the effect of one scene in that chapter and it makes me sad ;-;

Note (from ao3):
TRIGGER WARNING MENTIONS OF SUICIDE/SUICIDAL THOUGHTS

Enjoy!

When the girl woke up, she didn't knew where she was. Actually, she didn't know who she was.

She was in a bedroom where, as soon as she looked over the door, an old man entered.

« Oh! You're awake. Good. »

She looked at the old man take a seat on a chair beside the bed. He had a serene expression on his face that didn't seem to want to go away.

« I found you unconscious outside. You didn't seem to be so well. Can you tell me what a young girl like you was doing all alone outside like that? »

« I- »

The ginger-haired girl's gaze dropped to her hands as she noticed she couldn't remember a single thing.

« I don't know. I- I don't know where I am, or who I am. What was I even doing here in the first place? I don't- I can't remember. Sorry, sir... »

With a sign of his hand, the old man waved off her worries.

« No problem at all. If you want, I'll help you with your loss of memories. »

A small smile made its way to the girl's lips.

« Thank you, sir. »

« Alex. My name is Alex. And your welcome. »

At first, it was a bit hard for her to get use to her new life. Every morning, she would wake up after a weird dream. A dream she wasn't able to remember at all when she wakes up.

The only remaining things from her previous life were a pen that wasn't working and a single picture. On the photo, there was a young girl she and Alex thought was her younger self. She seemed to be beside someone, but the photo looked like it had been burned on that place as the person wasn't visible at all.

Everytime she would look at the picture, the girl would always feel the need to cry. Like she was missing something, or someone, so bad, she wanted to cry. Sometimes, she would even cry herself to sleep for no reason. She hated to feel that way and not know why.

But she still would never exchange her life right now for anything else. She and grandpa Alex were living happy and nothing could break their happiness.

Or so she thought.

<~~~~>

They lived for five years without anything or anyone bothering them.

One day, as they were wandering around the market, the girl went a little further from grandpa Alex. The man chuckled under her never ending excitement. He arched an eyebrow when he saw her suddenly stop. When he saw her grab her head in her hands, he rushed to her side.

The girl's head had started to hurt so bad, so suddenly and for no reason. As pain stricks her again, an image appears clearly in her mind.

It is the same as the picture she always keeps on her. But this time, she can clearly see who is the person beside her. It's a young boy who seem to be around her age with white hair and a smile that could bring peace to anyone who would see him.
