Engfa and Charlotte were in the hotel room, sorting out their stuff. Engfa had been quiet the whole day, something was clearly bothering her. Engfa looked behind her as Charlotte was sorting through her luggage.

Engfa took a deep breath, her heart pounding with nervous anticipation.

"Charlotte, there's something I need to tell you," Engfa's voice quivered, their eyes locked with Charlotte's as she turned around.

"I'm gonna just outright and say it. I have feelings for you. I've tried to hide it, but I can't deny it any longer. You mean so much to me, and I can't help but fall for you deeper every single day."

Charlotte's lips slightly parted as she processed Engfa's confession. A flicker of uncertainty crossed her face, a mixture of emotions swirling within her. Engfa could sense the weight of her silence, the hesitation that held her back from embracing their love.

"But I know I suck at hiding it so I'm sure you know my feelings," Engfa muttered.

Charlotte pursed her lips. She had known for a while and knew she and Engfa are meant to be something more. She had wished Engfa would not have confessed and instead just let it flow. For their actions screamed more than friends. She knew the way she acts around Engfa is different from how she acted with either Heidi or Marima. She knew that and Engfa knew that. Only, the both of them were on a different page.

"P'Fa..." Charlotte finally spoke, her voice laced with a touch of sadness. "I don't think we can be together. Not now, not ever. There is no chance for us to be together."

Engfa's heart sank, her hopes crushed in an instant. She had imagined a different response, one filled with warmth and reciprocation. The reality of Charlotte's words stung like a thousand tiny needles, piercing through her vulnerable heart.

"Why?" Engfa's voice quivered her tone a mixture of confusion and hurt. "I thought... we had something going on. I thought I wasn't the only one feeling this way."

Charlotte's gaze softened; her expression tinged with regret for a moment but she looked back at Engfa coldly.

"You thought wrong. I'm sorry." Charlotte said and went back to packing her luggage.

Engfa frowned, she knew she was not wrong. Engfa just looked at Charlotte's back. She scoffed and grabbed her jacket as she walked out of the room. Charlotte, who was pretending to be busy, flinched at the slammed door. She sighed and slowly dropped her body to the floor.

A few months later.

The club was alive with pulsating music, the rhythmic beats reverberating through the air. Engfa, filled with excitement and anticipation, entered the club hand-in-hand with a new girl she recently had met named Lily. Engfa's friends, Nudee, Heidi, Marima, and Tina, welcomed them warmly. Among the group, Charlotte's smile appeared forced, her eyes flickering with unease and jealousy. The group except for Charlotte, exchanged glances as they noticed something peculiar about Lily - her striking resemblance to Charlotte. However, they kept their observations to themselves, not wanting to spoil the night.

Engfa and Lily twirled and swayed together, their movements graceful and in sync. Engfa's heart swelled with happiness, blissfully unaware of the hidden undertones that her friends had picked up on.

Charlotte, on the other hand, watched from a distance, her heart heavy with a mix of longing and envy. She admired Engfa's happiness but she could not help but wonder if she had agreed to go out with Engfa a few months ago, could that be them right at this moment?
