Engfa awoke to the gentle kiss of the morning sun on her face, casting a warm golden glow across her room. The anticipation of the day ahead hung in the air, but it was a weight she was not entirely ready to bear. She washed her face, the water cooling against her skin, trying to steady the fluttering in her chest.

The bathroom was filled with a soft patter of water droplets as Engfa and Charlotte stood together under the warm spray of the shower. Steam curled around them, cocooning them in a world of intimacy and tenderness.

Engfa gently massaged shampoo into Charlotte's hair, her fingers moving with a soothing rhythm. Charlotte leaned into the touch; her eyes closed in contentment. The trust between them was palpable, a silent understanding that spoke volumes.

Once they stepped out of the shower, Engfa wrapped a fluffy towel around Charlotte, her touch feather-light yet full of care. She reached for another towel and began to pat Charlotte's hair dry, the soft fabric absorbing the water.

"You're so beautiful, Nuu." Engfa murmured, her voice a gentle caress.

As Engfa looked at her reflection in the mirror, she couldn't help but feel a pang of reluctance. The wedding event awaited her, a celebration of love that felt like a cruel reminder of what she could not have. She chose her attire with care, a delicate balance between festive and subdued, a reflection of her own conflicted emotions.

Engfa reached the wedding venue as she looked out the window of her car. Guests were gathered to enter the venue as they wore fancy dresses and suits.

"A beach wedding... Just what she wanted..." Engfa muttered.

She decided to do another round at the car park to calm her heart. She licked her dry lips and cleared the lump in her throat. Finally, she parked her car and switched off the ignition. She sighed, bracing herself to put up a front. Suddenly, there was a soft knock on her window. She turned and saw Nudee.

Nudee smiled softly, understanding Engfa's reluctance.

Engfa opened the door and exited the car. She exchanged a glance with Nudee.

"You don't have to, you know."

Engfa shook her head, "No, I promised."

Nudee snaked her arm around Engfa's bicep as they walked in together. At the beach venue, the salty breeze whispered secrets of the sea, as if trying to impart its wisdom to Engfa. She stood at a distance, watching the waves crash against the shore, lost in her thoughts.

The two best friends found their seats amidst the white chairs and flower petals, the scent of saltwater mingling with the fragrance of blossoms. Engfa's gaze remained fixed on the horizon, a silent plea to the universe for strength. Time seemed to stretch, a languid dance that tested her resolve.

Then, like a symphony conductor raising his baton, the first notes of the wedding march danced in the air. Engfa rose, heart pounding in rhythm with the music. Her eyes sought out Charlotte, the girl who held her heart, walking down the aisle in a vision of white, hand in hand with her father.

Their eyes met a connection that transcended the distance between them. Engfa's smile was a beacon, a promise of unwavering support. Charlotte's own smile was a fragile echo, a tear betraying the depth of her emotions. It was a moment suspended in time, a shared understanding that needed no words.

As Charlotte approached nearer to her, Engfa's heart swelled with a bittersweet mixture of pride and longing. She knew that if she truly loved her, she had to let her go, to support her in this new chapter of her life, even if it meant standing on the sidelines.
