Engfa's Concoction Part 1

It was a Friday night. Citizens of Thailand were probably at home with their family or out with their friends, drinking their night away into the weekend.

Nudee walked towards Engfa's and Charlotte's shared apartment, hands full of Engfa's favourite street food and alcohol. Charlotte had a schedule while Engfa finally had a free day. Nudee was excited to hang out with Engfa as it has been a long time since it was just the two of them, especially with Engfa's already busy schedule. Her schedule was getting busier too and she still has to juggle with her school schedule. It was nice to be able to just chill at home with her best friend, who is like her real elder sister.

Nudee pressed the doorbell and waited for Engfa to open the door. She heard some commotion coming from inside the apartment before the door opened and Engfa greeted her excitedly.

Perhaps, a little bit too excited.

Nudee looked at Engfa, "You started drinking without me?!" She accused as she entered the premises with Engfa closing the door behind her.

"No! But! I did find a new cocktail mixture for YOU to try." Engfa explained as they made their way to the kitchen.

"Wait. Wait. Wait. What do you mean for ME to try?"

"Just you."

"Why do I have to try?"

"Because."

Nudee stared at Engfa in disbelief as Engfa just brought all the drinks out to the living room. Nudee shook her head and just followed Engfa out. They started easy. Nudee started with her favourite beer with Engfa.

"OKAY! I'm going to start mixing for you. Now, I got this homemade concoction from a street vendor on my way home from getting papaya salad earlier. It is said to be very strong so let's see."

Nudee had a bad feeling about this so-called homemade concoction but since she was with Engfa, she knew she would be safe. She looked at Engfa's focused face as she made the "cocktail". Engfa started by adding a blue gummy bear into the shot glass. Nudee frowned and gave Engfa a look.

Engfa looked up at Nudee, sensing the look.

"To help you ease into it, I guess."

Nudee shrugged as Engfa poured some hard liquor into the mix.

Engfa took a small bottle out of her pocket, "Now, the owner said to add only 2 drops." Engfa opened the bottle and just eyeballed the amount even though the bottle came with a dropper. She shrugged, thinking that nothing could go wrong.

Engfa pushed the shot towards Nudee softly. Nudee stared at it for a while before bringing the cup to her nose. It smelled like any other alcohol. She downed it and Engfa shoved a lime into Nudee's mouth.

"How was it?"

"Weird. Definitely weird. I don't think you did it right."

Engfa frowned and just gave up on the concoction. Their night continued with more drinking, laughing and the movie that was long forgotten.

Charlotte opened the door to the apartment. It was quiet. She knew Nudee and Engfa were hanging out, drinking so she did not think much about the silence. The two of them were probably passed out right now. She went into the kitchen and took a cold drink out to quench her thirst. Then, she headed out of the kitchen and suddenly saw Engfa sneaking out of their room. She frowned, confused, but braced herself to handle one drunk Engfa.
