The Waraha Legacy

A/N: A quick note! This story is in the "Healing Touch" universe! Just a short one for now, just to introduce to you guys, the Waraha family.

"Nuu? Nuu? Nuu!"

Charlotte snapped out of it and turned to Engfa, who has been calling her for a while. She smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry. What did you say?"

Engfa brushed Charlotte's hair back and looked at her with concern.

"Are you okay? What went through your head there?"

Charlotte looked around the venue and shook her head.

"Just... imagining our wedding in this venue," Charlotte answered.

Engfa smiled and caressed Charlotte's head.

"You like this place? I like it." Engfa held Charlotte's hands and stared into her eyes.

Despite being together for a long time, Engfa still manages to bring butterflies into her stomach.

Charlotte nodded and leaned in to kiss Engfa. Engfa smiled into the kiss before pulling away and calling the wedding organizer to lock in the venue.

They were on their way back when Engfa got a message.

"Nuu, I'll drop you off first, I have an urgent work that I need to check out. Don't wait for me, okay?"

Charlotte frowned, upset that Engfa cannot be home with her. She held Engfa's arm and rested her head on Engfa's biceps.

"Can't it wait till tomorrow?" Charlotte spoke in a cute voice.

Engfa's heart melted yet she lifted her arm to hold Charlotte's nape, causing Charlotte to look up at her.

"I'm sorry, baby... I'll make it up to you, okay?"

Charlotte sulked and sat back in her seat properly. Engfa massaged her nape lovingly, before stopping the car at the drop-off point for Charlotte. Charlotte was about to exit the car but Engfa stopped her.

"Nuu... I'll make it up to you, I promise. This is the last project for this week, then I'm all yours."

Charlotte gave Engfa the side eye.

"All mine?"

"All yours. Whatever you want, we will do it."

Charlotte pouted before nodding. She leaned in and kissed Engfa on the lips. Engfa reciprocated and Charlotte deepened the kiss, taking her breath away. Charlotte pulled away while sucking on Engfa's lower lip before letting it go. Engfa still had her eyes closed as she catches her breath. 

"That's what you'll be missing for a week," Charlotte smirked before getting out of the car.

Engfa shook her head as she checked Charlotte out, before driving off. She dialed a number and waited for the person to pick up.

"I'm on my way. Hold him down until I get there. Nobody touches him." Engfa gritted her teeth.

Charlotte walked into her condo apartment, feeling a mixture of confusion and concern after Engfa abruptly announced an urgent work engagement. She could not help but wonder what could be so pressing that Engfa had to leave immediately.

Charlotte's mind raced back to the day she had received the news of Keith's death. As she had shared the news with Engfa, expecting some sort of comfort or something, she was met with an unexpected coldness and no surprise at all. It was as if Engfa had already known what was going on. Engfa's usually sympathetic eyes seemed devoid of empathy. The memory sent shivers down Charlotte's spine, raising unsettling questions about the true nature of the person she loved. She looked around the house. She knew Engfa owned a business but what kind that she was able to afford this type of luxury, she never knew. She asked but Engfa was always so vague with her answer. Doubt and unease began to gnaw at her, intertwining with the web of secrecy that enveloped Engfa's life.
