Waraha Legacy (Part 1)

With each passing day, Charlotte's intuition grew stronger, a gnawing sense that something significant remained veiled behind Engfa's stoic façade. Since the incident with Keith's death, Engfa's behaviour had subtly shifted, leaving Charlotte grasping at fragments of unease that danced just beyond her reach.

The week Engfa had asked for is almost coming to an end, Engfa's moments of distant silence, the guarded glances exchanged between her and Daadeaw, the occasional disappearances – each puzzle piece fit snugly into Charlotte's growing suspicion.

Though she was uncertain of the depth and nature of Engfa's secret, Charlotte could not shake the feeling that she was being kept in the dark, shielded from the truth that loomed ominously overhead. Their once open and transparent bond had become clouded by unspoken words, leaving Charlotte grappling with a mix of curiousity, concern, and a tinge of fear.

Late into the night, startled from her slumber, Charlotte's senses jolted to attention as the sound of Engfa's voice penetrated the walls of their shared condo apartment. Groggy and disoriented, she strained to make sense of the muffled conversation emanating from Engfa's office. The urgency and underlying tension in her were unmistakable, causing an unsettling knot to form in Charlotte's stomach.

Driven by an overwhelming curiousity and a nagging sense of unease, Charlotte silently tiptoes towards the office door, her heart pounding in her chest. The office door was slightly ajar and she could see a glimpse of Engfa on the phone with her hand on her head, she clearly looked stressed.

"Nudee... be patient. This is where we need to wait until all of Keith's assets have been passed to us with no heads turning at us. The last thing we want is a war, from his side. I mean, I'm confident they have nothing against us but I don't want to waste our resources on useless things like this." Engfa's voice carried a mix of triumph and calculation, the words hanging in the air like a heavy cloud.

Charlotte's heart races, her mind attempting to grasp the implications of those cryptic words. Questions swirled within her mind, a whirlwind of doubt and suspicion that threatened to consume her.

What was Engfa involved in? Who was this Nudee person? What is Engfa's involvement with Keith's sudden death? Is Keith even dead?

The truth unfolded before her, painting a darker picture of the world she thought she knew.

Fear and disbelief coursed through Charlotte's veins, mingling with a growing sense of betrayal. Engfa, the person she thought she knew and loved, was entangled in a web of deceit and manipulation.

Meanwhile, Engfa was still on the phone with Nudee.

"Nudee, I know you're eager to get out of this secrecy we have you in. You know why you had to go into hiding. The enemies... they're gonna come back for you. You're older now, yeah. But are you ready?"

"P'Fa... You've taught me everything I needed to know. I'm itching to get into the real world. I'm ready. Besides, you'll be there, right?"

"Every step of the way. You're my sister. I will always stand by you. Okay, let's introduce you to Charlotte first. With all the secrets, you're actually the smallest one. Literally."

"I'm not that much shorter than you."

"Yeah, but you're my baby sister so in my eyes, you'll forever be small."

Suddenly, Engfa heard a sound outside the door. She turned and looked in the direction. The door was slightly ajar. Her heart sank.

Charlotte.
