As the moon cast its gentle glow through the bedroom window, Engfa and Charlotte lay intertwined in each other's arms, seeking solace and comfort in the quiet embrace. Engfa's hand traced soothing patterns along Charlotte's bare back, a tender gesture that conveyed both reassurance and affection. Charlotte smiled as she lay her head on Engfa's chest.
Looking up into Engfa's eyes, Charlotte sensed a tinge of worry etched upon her features. With a soft voice, Charlotte gently broke the tranquil silence.
"Baby..."
"Hmm?"
"Are you worried about your gang?"
Engfa's gaze met Charlotte's, a flicker of vulnerability dancing within her eyes. She paused for a moment, her fingers halting their rhythmic motion along Charlotte's back. A mixture of emotions played across her face before she let out a quiet sigh, before nodding.
"I trust that we will win this war. But I've been here long enough to know we are going to lose some people too. They are good people. Some of them are here to have money to take care of their family. Some are doing good business."
Charlotte listened attentively. She realized Engfa was not like what mob leaders are stereotyped as. She cares and is attentive to her members.
"I'm sorry..." Charlotte apologized.
"You didn't know. It's okay. Worries aside, there is a good thing coming out of this."
Charlotte frowned and propped on her elbows, facing Engfa. Engfa turned to face Charlotte and propped her left elbow before resting her head on her hand.
"What is this good thing?"
"Chanya has been selling drugs and bringing them over to my territory on the down low. I've been finding the right time to take over her side of Bangkok, and stopping this."
"Well, know this. I'm going to be by your side from now on. I believe in you, in us. We'll find a way to protect what we hold dear."
Engfa's eyes softened at Charlotte's words, a glimmer of gratitude shining through the worry that clouded her gaze. She leaned into Charlotte and kissed her, seeking solace and strength.
"You give me strength, baby," Engfa confessed, her voice filled with a blend of gratitude and affection. "Knowing that you're by my side, ready to face the challenges ahead, eases the weight of the world upon my shoulders."
Engfa leaned into Charlotte, pushing her body down to lie on the bed. In that quiet moment, their bodies entwined and their hearts entangled, Charlotte and Engfa found solace and reassurance in each other's presence. The imminent dangers may have cast a shadow over their lives, but together they were resolute in their commitment to protecting one another and their family.
Charlotte opened her mouth slightly, allowing Engfa to push her tongue in. Their tongues meet and hugged each other. Engfa pulled away and opened her eyes. She looked into Charlotte's eyes.
"Marry me."
Charlotte stared into Engfa's eyes. She rested her hands on Engfa's shoulders. The rhythm of their breathing in sync.
"Yes." Charlotte smiled, and moved her right hand behind Engfa's head, playing with her hair.
"Let's go." Engfa got on her knees and got up from the bed.
As the words left Engfa's lips, a mix of surprise and curiousity and washed over Charlotte's face, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"Wait, now?" Charlotte sat up, looking at Engfa dressing up in a rush. She took a moment to process the magnitude of Engfa's suggestion, the idea of embarking on a new chapter together.
