Chapter twenty two
Saleem
I came back home after 11pm
I went up to my room but didn't meet her
Maybe she went to her room after waiting for me
I bathed too and slept, her thoughts not leaving my head
Sa'adah
I woke up and did my daily routine
I came downstairs to cook breakfast but met everything on the table already
I smiled knowing it was saleem that maybe ordered them
"Hey pretty good morning, how's your health now? "He asked hugging me from behind
" I'm fine alhamdulillah nothing is paining me now "I replied turning to face him
"Glad, so I cooked today since you're not feeling very strong"he sat down and tapped his lap looking at me
"What"I asked confused
"Come and sit on my laps let me feed you "
"Don't you think you're pampering me way too much"
I said sitting on one of the chairs
He suddenly stood up and came to where I was sitting
He raised me up and sat down making me sit on his laps
"You like arguments "he said pecking my cheek
I wasn't feeling comfortable sitting on his laps so I attempted to stand up even though I knew it wasn't possible
He held me tight and said
"Don't even try that, you wont argue with me again, now open your mouth and eat "he said keeping a straight face
He started feeding me and the food was tasting very bad so I asked him
"Where did you order this from"
"You like it? "
"No way an ordinary person will like this food, its very bad"I said squeezing my face
"What do you mean? I cooked this myself "he said disappointed
"What? You cooked this?, taste it and tell me how it is"I said fetching a spoon of it to his mouth
"Oh my God "he said squeezing his face too which made me to burst out into laughter
"Why are you laughing, I just wanted to impress you"
He wanted to impress me? But why?
"Okay you didn't impress me rather you disappoint me"I said teasing him
"I'm sorry"he said making a sad face
"Hey hey I was just joking, you really tried but I'll have to teach you how to cook so you won't go out and make such things "I said laughing
"Why will I go out and cook? This is my first time cooking and its because you are the one, there's nobody that can make me cook"he said looking at my eyes
I smiled and stood up
"Come let's go and cook"I said smiling at him
"No I will just order something now"he said bringing out his phone from his trouser's pocket but I snatched the phone away
"I said no, I can cook myself I told you I'm fine now, maybe I'm even healthier than you"
I said as we both laughed
I took his hand in mine as we walked to the kitchen
He insisted that I should sit and be telling him what to do but I refused
He still thought I wasn't fine completely
But as always he won
I had to sit at the chair while he did the work.

I called ihsaan and begged her to come over if she was free because I was sitting bored at home, saleem went to work and I called Fatima and zuly but they said they were at school which reminded me that I was a student, I made up my mind that I'll ask saleem when he got back home
I called ihsaan hoping she wasn't having class too and thankfully she wasn't so she told me she'll be there in shorts
I was sitting in the parlour watching star life when she came in smiling
She came and hugged me as I did the same
I then suddenly remembered what saleem did yesterday in her presence and I became shy
"Ehm ihsaan I'm sorry for keeping you wait yesterday, I was actually having a slight headache so I slept off after taking bath "I lied not looking at her
Maybe she noticed I was lying so she said
"No don't worry its okay, I can understand,besides your husband took you up himself so anyone can understand "she said laughing thinking of something else and I felt shy.
