Knock knock

Soonhee directed her attention towards the door and greeted Hao with a warm smile as she spotted him waving, as she saying, "Please come in."

Without hesitation, Hao swiftly pushed the door open and raised his hand high, presenting a velvet box, and exclaimed, "Happy birthday, my exquisite, dazzling, and charismatic boss!" His exuberant declaration drew the attention of the staff outside her office.

"Thank you!" Soonhee responded with a broad grin as Hao took his seat across from her, placing the velvet box on her desk. She couldn't help but inquire, "But how did you know it was my birthday?"

" Well, I have to work for you, of course, I did a study about my new boss to know her more, right, Mrs. Park Soonhee? "

Soonhee attempted to open the box but was stopped in her tracks. "What...?" she questioned.

Hao laughed wholeheartedly, throwing his head back after witnessing Soonhee's shocked expression. "Hana got transferred to a different department. Do you like the birthday present?"

Soonhee's jaw dropped. "Oh my... So who is his secretary now?"

"Well, I'm a high-quality worker, so I have two bosses. Poor me," Hao pouted playfully, patting his own head, eliciting a quiet tsk from Soonhee.

Hao let out a light giggle and picked up the velvet box again. "Anyway..." he began, opening it. He raised an eyebrow and slid it closer to Soonhee. "Do you like it?"

Once again, Soonhee was rendered speechless. She was known for her fondness for silver accessories, which explained the silver ring on her finger. Hao had chosen a silver bracelet with a diamond-encrusted white crystal charm at its center.

Hao wore a soft smile as he removed the bracelet from its case. Jokingly, he said, "Your hand, miss," prompting Soonhee to extend her wrist. Hao carefully fastened the bracelet, cheering, " Jjang! "

Still wearing an astonished expression, Soonhee brought her arm closer to examine every intricate detail. She then met Hao's gaze, curling her lips into a grateful smile. "It's... it's beautiful," she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation. "Thank you, Hao. You didn't have to..."

Hao smiled warmly at her. "I wanted to," he replied " oh, ya " Hao's sudden words caught Soonhee's attention, and she watched with curiosity as he reached into his pocket and pulled out another velvet box, smaller in size. Her eyes widened slightly as he presented it to her.

Soonhee's hand froze in the mid-air after Hao pulled the box back when she tried to reach it " You can't open this for now "

She pursed her lips into a thin line, slightly disappointed " Then, when should I? "

" Until I told you so " Hao wiggled his eyebrows, placing the velvet box between them

Soonhee found herself drawn to Hao's charm and kindness, and she couldn't deny the growing connection between them.

"Thank you, Hao," she said, her voice sincere.

Hao smiled warmly at her, his eyes filled with affection. "Anything for you,"

"You came home early today," Soonhee remarked as she placed a tray with a meal in front of her husband, Jihoon.

Jihoon looked up and smiled. "Yeah, less busy."

Today, Soonhee had decided to take a half-day off from work to cook a special dinner for her husband to celebrate her birthday. She had even tidied up the entire house, including Jihoon's room.
