Trying to learn to hot-wire a car was harder than MK thought it was going to be. Mostly because a zombie had heard them and was banging on the windows loudly, its screams making MK pale as Wukong happily showed him what to do.

Even though the older was talking about wires or something, MK couldn't keep his focus on what he was saying (or how he was so calm) when the zombie outside MK's window was so loud and unnerving.

What if it broke the glass?

Maybe that was why Wukong was so calm, since it was on MK's side so even if it did break the glass he himself wouldn't be in any immediate danger. Just MK.

Or maybe he was just really good at ignoring it somehow.

"And then you just twist those two wires together and- done!" MK startled at the sound of the engine turning on, looking back from the zombie to find Wukong looking at him, the proud grin on his face quickly turning into a pout.

"And you weren't listening to a single thing I just showed you, were you?" He asked but it was more of a rhetorical since it looked like he already knew the answer.

"Sorry?" MK tried but the zombie slammed on the glass again, making him let out a startled squeak and Wukong sighed.

"No, it's alright kid, How about I show you again later? When we don't have company?" He suggested, eyes flicking to the creature outside and MK nodded gratefully as Wukong turned his attention back to the car, putting his hands on the wheel.

"Sounds good." He gave the other a thumbs up, Wukong sending him a beaming grin before he looked back to the front window.

"Great! Then hold on tight!" MK, confused, didn't get the chance to ask what he meant before the older was slamming down on the gas, tearing away from the zombie, and swerving down the road as MK shrieked and quickly plugged in his seat belt, holding onto it like it was a lifeline.

"Maybe- maybe you shouldn't be going so fast?" MK yelped out as Wukong swerved around the cars that had been left in the road, smacking a zombie as they passed it and MK cringed at the bump he felt when they ran over it.

"Pft, where's the fun in that?" The older chuckled and MK could only grip his seat belt tighter and hope they didn't crash, wondering how the heck this man was an adult. Somehow, Wukong managed not to crash into anything, not yet anyway and MK felt a little bit of adrenaline-fueled glee strike him when Wukong spun the wheel to avoid a block in the road, curving off and heading down a narrow side road until they came out back onto another main one.

"Woah! That was so cool!" MK couldn't help but gasp out, looking back behind them at the narrow alleyway Wukong had driven them down and the sharp turn he'd taken as his adrenaline brought out excitement.

"Course it was, kid. Look who you're talking to." Wukong replied back coolly and MK laughed, a grin stretching across his face at the confidence.

"Good point." He agreed and almost missed the other's slightly started expression like he hadn't expected MK to say that. Which was stupid! Of course MK thought he was the coolest. He was!

As they drove out of the city, Wukong did slow down, mostly to not waste fuel but he was still going faster than MK had driven.

"So tell me, how'd you manage to get separated from your parents anyway?" Wukong asked suddenly and MK averted his gaze from the road where he'd been counting the lampposts they went by, ignoring the little houses of this town they were in to look at Wukong, cheeks flushing with embarrassed heat.

"Ah well I was kinda... in a closet for most of the beginning?" He started, thinking back to the experience as Wukong sent him a sideward glance.

"You're gay?" MK jerked his head in confusion at Wukong's equally confused tone, his eyebrows furrowing at the out-of-the-blue question as he shook his head.
