"What, but, that doesn't make any sense! My little brother's name wasn't MK." Wukong muttered to himself, looking a little unhinged and MK felt his heart start flipping in his chest when he realized what Wukong was saying, what that meant.

"You didn't think MK was my birth name, did you?" He asked, a weird giddy feeling rising inside him as he shook his head.

"MK's just a nickname!" And Wukong looked at him after that, really looked at him, staring until suddenly his eyes went shiny and damp as they welled up with tears and it took MK a second to realize they had the same eye colour.

"Oh my god. Holy fuck! You're- you're my little brother!" He yelled, and MK yelped as he was abruptly picked up in a crushingly tight hug, a little dazed at suddenly being picked up and spun around.

Wukong was his brother? It almost felt too good to be true and for another long moment, he didn't actually believe it.

"I can't believe I've finally found you!" Wukong cheered, sounding elated and excited in a way MK was struggling to process until he found his own happy smile blooming on his face, laughing as Wukong squished him to his chest tightly before pulling away, his hands resting on MK's shoulders as he looked him up and down.

"Gosh, look at you! You're so big now! And no wonder you're so good at art, taking after your big brother, huh?" He snickered and MK felt his whole chest go light and delighted as Wukong's own excitement rubbed off on him.

"Oh my gosh! I have an older brother." He realized, his own smile was just as bright as Wukong's was before another realization smacked him in the face and he gasped.

"Holy shit! My brother is the Monkey King! Oh my gosh! This is so cool." He squealed, amazed at the fact that his actual idol, someone he'd wanted to be like when he grew up was actually his older brother. He hadn't even known he had a brother!

This was literally the coolest surprise ever!

"Hey, language kiddo, or something." Wukong scolded and MK gawked at him.

"Hey! You literally swore earlier!" He pointed out petulantly and Wukong grinned, flicking the edge of his nose.

"Ah yes but I'm older, so the rules don't apply to me, little bro." MK's jaw dropped in the unfairness at Wukong's far too-pleased grin, something warm squirming in his chest at being called 'little bro'.

"Wha- that's not fair!" But Wukong simply ruffled his hair again, the playful mood slowly dying down as the elation slowly wore off.

"You're so different than I imagined you," Wukong told him, but it sounded more like he was talking to himself and MK raised an eyebrow.

"I mean! You're just so much older now!" He gasped and MK chuckled.

"Yeah, that's kinda how aging works." He snickered but Wukong shook his head at the cheeky response, rolling his eyes.

"I know that! But It's just... here you are. Who would have thought that all it would take was a zombie apocalypse for me to find you again, huh?" He laughed but there was something sad about the way he said it even if he'd tried to sound casual about it. Then it sank in just how long Wukong had been looking for him. MK hadn't even known he was missing a sibling, but Wukong hadn't seen his little brother since he was ten and MK was a baby.

It was probably weird seeing him practically grown up now, looking after himself with a whole other family he'd just spent over an hour telling Wukong all about.

"I can't believe how much I've missed. Not gonna lie, I'd started thinking years ago that I'd probably never get to see you again. I thought you were with our parents in some other country or something, that they'd just left with you." He paused, tone going painfully soft.
