I drove off after telling Ermias I had a meeting, which wasn't a lie. I had a meeting with mom to discuss some things. Hopefully, I get to see my sister and my step-dad. At first, I didn't fuck with the man...I felt like he was hiding something and had ulterior motives. But, once I saw that he'd stand up for me against my mom, I had a change of heart. I appreciate Terrell for making my mom and sister happy, despite me and my mom's estranged relationship. Despite how she treats me, she's been through a lot and deserves to be happy.

I was then broken from thought as I seen Trent calling.

"Wassup bro?" he said once I answered the phone.

"Nothing, making my way to the family. My mom wanted to talk to me about something. I slick-side already know but I'm still going to see wassup and plus I wanna see Jailen." I responded. "What's going on with you?"

"Nun much honestly. I met this girl Lyric and she might be the one bro." I could tell he was smiling.

"Where'd you meet her?" I asked genuinely.

"I met her at Reed's open mic night," He said. "She was with her friends Ermias and Dustin."

"Oh word? You better treat her right, I don't need what y'all two have going on to get involved with me and Ermias'....work environment." I caught myself.

Not gonna lie...I'm slick feeling him.

"You feeling him ain't you?" I could sense him giving me that 'be so fucking forreal' face.

"Yo, I just pulled up to my mom's, imma call you back." I attempted to hurry him off the phone.

"Aht aht, answer the question." He stopped me in my tracks.

"Yeah, I guess but I got far too much going on with my family and I still have to get myself together." I stated honestly.

I don't wanna risk anybody being involved in my cluster fuck of a life.

"Well, imma let you go bro. I'll talk to you later." He said before hanging up.

"Ight, talk to you later." I began walking into my mom's house.
