[Earlier Monday]

I was currently on my way to meet with my family to figure out what we're gonna do about Kaasan being back. Kaasan's family and my family go way back. Our families were business partners before my pops was killed, friends even. The reason him being in Dallas is causing such an uproar is because my mom told to me, once I was old enough, that his family was responsible for my dad's death during a business meeting. She never went into much detail but I need to know everything. He could be back to finish the job or something, I don't know but hopefully I can find out sooner than later.

"Wassup y'all." I spoke as I entered the dining room. "So what's going on ?"

"I'm considering moving." My mom stated, tapping her class cup. "I can't afford drama with anybody right now."

"I understand all that, but don't you think that's a little irrational ?" I questioned.

"It may be but I can't risk it." She shrugged.

"Ma...you quite honestly run this city, what are you running from ? This is the life you and pops chose. It may be time for you to deal with this problem head on." I leaned back in my chair.

"What are you running from ?" Jailen asked, causing the room to go silent.

"I...I'm responsible for the murder of his family." My mom spoke, causing all of us to look at her.

"Wh-what ?" Jailen asked in shock.

Me on the other hand...I had no words. This is a prime example that the actions of my parents yet again fall on me AND possibly my sister. Disappointed but not surprised.

"What do you mean ?" My sister reiterated her question.

"Jailen c'mon." I got up from the table, grabbing my keys. "Grab some of your stuff to put in my car and we could put the rest in your car. The guest room is already decorated for you so we don't have to worry about taking any furniture and all that."

"Yeah...I think that's best." She said going up to her room to gather her things.

It took us a couple hours to move Jailen's stuff into the cars.

She has entirely too many clothes.

Unfortunately for me it took us even longer to get it into the house. We piled it all up in the living room but coming up and down the stairs did a number on me for sure.

Once I finally got settled down after my shower and everything, I saw Ermias calling me. He's just the person I wanna end my night talking to...he makes me feel better and relieved about any and everything.
