It's currently 10:20am. Nile has a whole day planned out for me and him before the trip. I don't know what we're doing but I know he knows how to plan dates and outings. I feel like I'm on the first date again...all flustered and stuff. He told me to be ready in ten minutes so I spent the rest of the time I had left to make sure I had everything packed and didn't leave anything behind, especially my passport. I'm leaving out with him in the morning so neither of us is late and plus we honestly just wanted to be together before the trip, as we'd be surrounded by our friends, co-workers, and other psych companies (as it is a convention).

I soon received a text from Nile saying he was outside. Before I left, I sent a quick message to the group chat letting them know I was gonna be with Nile all day and that I'd see them tomorrow morning.

"Hey baby boy." Nile greeted me before getting out to put my bags in his trunk.

"Hey baby." I smiled before giving him a quick peck and a hug before we both got in the car.

"So, are you gonna tell me what we're doing today ?" I looked over at him.

"Nope, just sit back and chill. All you need to know is you're gonna enjoy yourself." He replied, resting his hand on my thigh.

We sat in comfortable silence until he pulled up to this breakfast place I had mentioned I wanted to try weeks ago. He's so attentive and remembers the littlest things. If he isn't perfect, I don't know what is.

"I remembered you mentioned this place weeks ago and decided to make it happen." He shrugged as I looked at him.

"C'mon or are we just gonna stand outside ?" He chuckled before grabbing my hand.

"Good morning." The host greeted us.

"Good morning." Nile and myself replied in unison.

"Is it just a party of two today ?"

"Yes." Nile replied before the host signaled we follow him to our table.

It wasn't long after we got to the table that our assigned waiter came to get our order.

"What can I start y'all off with anything to drink ?"

"What mimosa would you recommend ?" I asked, smiling politely earning a smile back.

"I would recommend the peach melba, which includes berries and peaches. The second one I recommend is the strawberry and sparkling rosè punch, so good." He chucked.

"Okay I think I'll have...both." I said as I honestly couldn't decide, they both equally sounded good.

"Okay what can I get for you sir ?" The waiter turned to Nile.

"Uhh, I think I'll just have a regular orange juice." Nile responded.

"Okay gotcha, are y'all ready to order food or y'all need a few more minutes ?" He jotted down our drinks before his attention returned to us.

Nile and I shared a look across the table before smiling and simultaneously stating we were ready to order, causing all three of us to laugh.

"Y'all are so cute! What would y'all like to eat ?"

"I'll have berrylicious french toast." I handed him my menu. Yes, I love berries...shid I am one.

"I'll get the shrimp and grits." Nile replied before giving the waiter his menu as well.

"Okay, I'll have those drinks right out to y'all." The waiter said before walking away.

"Sooo...I turned in my poem to Jazmine and she loved it." I smiled and sparked conversation.

"That's great baby, I'm so proud of you!" He said damn near jumping out of his seat, causing me to laugh.

"Thank you." I chuckled. "I'm excited for it to be released and just to see the reaction everyone will have. It's something real and raw so I know i've made something special and something that people can really connect with."

"I'm so proud of you because I know that's something you really want to do in life and look at you doing just that." He smiled, resting his hand over mine.

As we admired each other I couldn't help but be grateful. I was so used to men hurting me and just never really being the man for me. Just when I thought love couldn't happen for me, it happened along with peace. I never thought I would know what peace of mind was or felt like but here I am.

The person I was months ago probably would've self sabotaged this relationship or formed doubt out of fear but I deserve such happiness and I'm gonna allow myself to enjoy it.

I was pulled from my thoughts as the waiter soon returned with our food and drinks.

After breakfast, Nile took me to the outlet mall. He told me to get whatever I wanted despite my protest. I told him I just wanted some jewelry, specifically a new chain and a bracelet to match. We went to the jewelry store to pick out the jewelry but of course, Nile didn't stop there. We followed up by going to a few clothing stores, shoe stores, and fragrance shops. Anytime I tried to talk him out of buying something else for me, he dismissed it and insisted on purchasing it. This damn man.

Lastly, we ended our splurge by going to get mani-pedis. All this took us a few hours.

"I enjoyed today." I sighed as I reached over to grab his free hand as he drove. I was worn out, I had been up since about six o' clock this morning making sure myself and everyone else checked in for our flights tomorrow morning.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it baby boy. We're not finished though, we have one more place to go before we go home. I promise cause I know you're tired." He chuckled before squeezing my hand lightly.

"Okay." I smiled before resting my head back. I must've fallen asleep because Nile soon was tapping me awake.

"We're here baby." I woke up to see the sun starting to set on The Harbor Rockwall. "C'mon."

We got the car and began to walk to the end of the harbor. Once we got there I leaned forward against the railing peeking out to the water before Nile placed his arms on each side of my body. We sat there for about 30 minutes allowing ourselves to simply exist, taking in the coolness of the wind and the beauty of the sun & water.

"Do you want kids ?" Nile questioned randomly.

"Yeah, two. Preferably twins, a boy and girl but the gender really doesn't matter to me." I said, still peering out at the water. "What about you babe ?"

"I want two too." He replied, wrapping his arms around me, snuggling me closer. "How you feel about marriage ?"

"I think marriage is a beautiful thing. It's definitely something I want to do with you, the kids too if that's what you were wondering." I smiled knowing what he was attempting to hint at.

"Good, cause it's my intention to do all that with you Mai" He kissed my neck before resting his head against mine.

"I love you baby." Nile whispered in my ear.

"I love you too...more than you may even realize." I spoke softly, leaning against him.
