Chapter Sixteen: Banko

After realizing that Chobei and Mizuho had already performed Bochu Jutsu, everyone looked over this technicality and this meant that the duo was ready to join Lord Tensen. When they arrived at where the ceremony was being held, they saw all the remaining members of Lord Tensen, including the leader Rien, in front of a cauldron. There was Tao Fa, Ju Fa, Zhu Jin, Gui Fa, and Ran who were transformed in their masculine Yang forms, alongside Rien, while wearing Changshans and Daojiao fushis. Despite their elegant appearances, all the members had different ideas about the humans joining them.

Touch Tao Fa and I'll rip you two apart.

Maybe I'll appeal to Mizuho more as a man?

He's done it... I'm getting emotional over here.

Why is he glaring...?

 They all chanted as Chobei and Mizuho were felt confused at what was happening, so they stood there with the latter quietly copying their words while the former stayed silent.

What a pain, these guys.... We won't fare well against them by ourselves. We'd better betray them and skedaddle.

 Afterwards, the members ended their ritual as the Bandit King and the swordswoman take off their coats.

"So..." sighed Chobei, "fancy ritual and all, but what was the point?"

"The point?" spoke the orange hibiscus-haired person. "There was no point. Just an age-old custom."

"It's for newly born Doshi priests..." explained Tao Fa in her masculine Yang form as she began to unknot her clothes, "... to denote their admission into the palace." She then transformed into her feminine Yin form, showing her cleavage as she continued loosening her Changshan. "Phew. The female form is much better."

Mizuho shivered a bit as she looked upon the members of Lord Tensen. These people are quite strange, yet powerful.... They can switch sexes, but they share the same voices and faces.... I can't even tell which is which unless I look at their hair...

Her thoughts were interrupted once Mizuho felt like someone was holding both her hands. She had realized that it was Tao Fa with her short, peach hair.

"Did you think I was handsome as a man~? I'm willing to change into one if you like it~"

Tao Fa was suddenly pulled away from her by Ju Fa as he scolded her. "Don't talk to those humans. There's no value in communing with livestock. I feel sick just breathing the same air as these swines." He then walked up to Mizuho. "Especially this whore."

Mizuho trembled at the moment she heard those words, wanting to forget her past life as an oiran. Sensing these words struck a nerve on her, Chobei came in front of Mizuho and glared at Ju Fa.

"The three of us agree, plant man."

Instantly, Ju Fa tried using his hand to chop Mizuho, but Chobei blocked it as the strong force of the attack broke his hand. Wind was created from the impact as it blew everyone's hair, except Gui Fa who had already left once it was finished.

"Ooh." The Bandit King taunted him as his scars grew bigger. "You reeeally should've killed us properly back then. Cuz now this eye of mine's seeing right through your moves."

"Enough." Ordered Rien. "Those humans are the subject of my research. And my guests. I didn't give you permission to harm him or her."

Ju Fa reluctantly brought his hand back as he obeyed his leader's orders.
