Despite the grueling pains that Chobei and Mizuho were going through, Toma and Jikka kept attacking the upcoming monsters as all of them ran towards the watergate. The shinobi had moved somewhere else to check on Shugen and the elixir.
"It's ahead of us at the north!" cried Mizuho.
"I don't understand, brother..." yelled Toma as he tore down a Soshin with his blade, "what's happening to you two?!"
Chobei replied. "Long story short, Mizuho and I fell in a hole covered with blooming corpses. We later gained control of our life force, or Tao. We can also transform into powerful new forms and we screwed--"
"SCREWED?!"
"Yes, we screwed so that we wouldn't be turned into Tan, or the elixir. We infiltrated the Tensen and learned of this super weapon called the Banko. It's a giant flower full of Tan and their leader Rien is planning to turn the mainland into that thing. After that, Mizuho and I killed two of their members."
As they continued rushing towards the dock, they see Kiyomaru running with some shinobi accompanying him. The boy also had a blind white-haired man and a brown-skinned child with him. It was Shion and Nurugai following the unranked Asaemon.
"Sir Shion?!" shouted Mizuho. "You're alive?!"
"Mizuho-san! It's great to see you!" Shion responded with a hint of playfulness.
"Sir, now isn't really the time for puns!" she yelled back before mumbling. "Although I admit it was pretty funny..."
"Oi, old hag! Pretty boy!" yelled Kiyomaru to the ravenette. "Why isn't the Bandit King bound or executed-- Woah! What's happening to you two?!"
"Long story, pipsqueak!" screamed Chobei as more Soshin and Monshin approached them.
The Asaemon who weren't affected by the arborification, including Nurugai, fought against the monsters as Mizuho yelled out the details of their journey. Although Kiyomaru was about to kill the kid, whatever was happening forced him to team up with Shion, who planned to leave the clan to help Nurugai find more of her clan.

Although the group was exhausted, especially Chobei and Mizuho with Toma supporting them both, they witnessed a scene outside of the Shu'itsu Sanctum. Isuzu was kneeling down before something in a flower field as a purple-haired woman, a brunette, and Tamiya were in front of her. The two girls were Yuzuriha and Sagiri.
"I always intended to take responsibility for my fallen comrades... and my act of seppuku should satisfy the shogun." The giantess announced, prepared her blade next to her exposed stomach. "Sir Shugen... will handle the rest..."
"Gah! Samurai are such pains in the ass!" exclaimed the purple-haired girl, known as Yuzuriha.
"Nope, I say it's a great idea." Gantetsusai defended. "Lemme serve as a kaishakunin, then!"
"Why must it come to this?" groaned Sagiri.
"Isuzu-chan! What are you doing?!" cried out Mizuho.
"Oof... looks like I've come at a bad time?" groaned Jikka. "C'mon. Relax a bit, Sagiri. You're spoiling your good looks."
"Shut up, you old pervert!" scolded the ravenette.
"Sir Jikka and... everyone?!" exclaimed Sagiri before noticing Mizuho and Chobei. "I see... they're experiencing the same thing as Mei..." she said, looking over the pink-haired child as flowers bloomed from her body.
