Paul and I make it back to my apartment, but relief washes over me when I don't see an eviction notice taped to my front door. That would have been so bad, I know he would have given me a place to stay but still. I frown softly at the smell coming from inside my apartment, it smells good. Oddly good.
But panic fills me once I listen closer to the human heart beat coming from the inside of the place.

I unlock the front door to find that it's already been unlocked. Paul and I exchange glances with one another as the front door opens.

"There's someone in here." I say barely above a whisper.

"I know, what the hell?!" Paul frowns as he whisper yells. "Stay here, I'm gonna go check it out."

The burning in my throat returns as he steps inside the apartment, I dig my nails into my palms as I try to ignore the pain in my throat. This is torture.

Paul slowly makes his way throughout the house but I can't take it anymore, I rush inside the house until I make my way into my closet where the loud heart beat is coming from. I quickly open the door to be face to face with a shocked looking Matt, my fangs have already come out as I mentally think of a way I can drink his blood and dispose of his body.

"Willow, no!" Paul grabs me and moves me out of the way before grabbing Matt by his shirt. "What are you doing here?!" He growls at him.

"I needed to see her!" Matt shouts back angrily at him. "Willow, why did you block my number?! Please just talk to me! You have no idea what I've done for you!"

I want to speak but if I do I am afraid I will end up draining Matt of all of his blood. I clench my jaw and manage out some words anyway.

"Of course I blocked your number, you were acting weird! And what are you talking about, what did you do for me?" I manage out, my voice sounds so strained and hoarse.

"I hit Paul with my car for you!!" Matt screams and Paul keeps him pinned against the wall. My eyes widen as rage now fills me, how dare he do such a terrible thing.

But meanwhile I feel like a hypocrite... I'm mentally plotting how to drain a person of their blood and dispose of the body.

It all makes sense though, the night Paul was hit Matt called me and told me his car was in the shop. I'm sure it was in the shop getting repairs, and Paul told me that night we went out to eat there was a car parked across the street just watching him, but Matt's car had tinted windows so of course Paul didn't get to see the driver.

"How could you do such a thing?!" I shout at Matt angrily. "I'm calling the police, I hope you get locked up!"

"Because I love you! Paul isn't good for you, you know he's not! I had to get him out of the way so that we could be together!" He exclaims wildly, I glare at him and ignore him.

"How are you still alive?! I hit you so hard that night!" He shouts angrily at Paul.

"How are you not in a psych-ward?" Paul responds casually. Matt let's out a loud scream as he tries to escape Paul's grip but he has no such strength.

Paul just looks surprised and amused at this point.

I grab my phone and dial nine one one before talking with the dispatch for a few minutes and giving the police mt address. After I know they will be there soon, I know I cannot stick around and risk killing every human in the room. So while Paul still has Matt pinned down, I hurriedly speed walk out of the front door before rushing off into the woods behind my apartment complex.

My legs carry me far enough but not too far to where I can't hear the police talking to Matt. They ask him his name and a few other questions. Paul also informs them that a couple of months ago Matt did a hit and run on him with his car. He denies what Paul is saying at first before shouting at him and admitting to doing the hit and run.
