The Lifeguard and The Olympian

Chapter 17: Race Day.

It was finally race day, Izuku and Katsuki woke up early to get ready. While Katsuki was putting their things in the car "Morning, Bakugou" a voice said behind him. Katsuki looked over "Mornin'" he greeted Shinso. "You got it?" he asked as Shinso walked up to him "Of course, I'll come find you before the race starts and give it to you like we planned" Shinso smiled and the 2 headed inside.

Izuku was almost done making breakfast when he heard Katsuki and Shinso talking. "Good Morning, Zu" Shinso greeted putting down his bag and taking a seat on a bar stool. "Good Morning, Toshi" Izuku smiled grabbing a 3rd mug. "Have you eaten yet?" Izuku asked as he poured Shinso a coffee. "I had an apple" Shinso told Izuku as he grabbed the mug. "Well that's not enough, here" Izuku grabbed a plate and got Shinso some food. "Thanks, Zuzu" Shinso smiled and started eating. "Kacchan! Come have breakfast!" Izuku shouted to Katsuki who was in the livingroom watching the news. Katsuki grabbed his plate and went back to the couch.

 "Kacchan! Don't eat in the living room!" Izuku scolded "If you want to watch the TV, at least sit at the dining table!" he finished. Shinso looked at Izuku and chuckled at him scolding Katsuki. "You got it Boss!" Katsuki huffed and walked backwards towards the table. They finished having breakfast and sat around watching the news to see what was going on with the days events. 'Katsuki Bakugou! Back from retirement and favored to win gold this year' was the headliner on the screen as the reporters talked about him.

'After a motorcycle accident that was supposed to end his career as an Olympian, Katsuki Bakugou announced last year that he would be competing this year and taking home the gold. The handsome Olympic Swimmer had fans excited and even cried at his return to the scene.'

They watched as the TV panned around the crowd outside of the Olympic pool holding signs with Bakugou's name on them, some even holding signs asking him to marry him. Katsuki huffed and turned the TV off. Izuku and Shinso laughed at his reaction to the fans asking him to marry them. "Damn extras, It's not like they haven't seen photos of us around town" he said walking to the kitchen with their mugs.

Izuku followed behind him "I think it's cute. Besides, it makes me feel special that I'm the one with you" he said wrapping his arms around his boyfriends waist. Shinso admired the couple and than noticed the time "Looks like its time for us to head out" he said and the couple nodded their heads. "You ready?" Izuku asked Katsuki as they put their shoes on. "I'm more than ready!" Katsuki smirked and the 3 got into Katsuki's car and headed to the Olympic pool.

Once they got to the pool, Katsuki's coach and the security team met them at the parking garage to escort them inside. They threw on some masks and made their way with the security guards to the front. The crowd started cheering and yelling Katsuki's name as they started walking past. Katsuki took Izuku's hand in his and waved to his fans as they walked past everyone with Shinso and the coach trailing behind. "They really love you, Kacchan" Izuku chuckled as he squeezed Katsuki's hand.

"Too bad I love you more" he responded and leaned in to kiss Izuku's cheek, even with the mask on. When the fans saw Katsuki kiss his boyfriend some cheered and the die hard fans boo'd at Izuku. Katsuki didn't like them booing at his lover so he stopped and turned around to look at them. Izuku stopped and grabbed Katsuki's arm, "Kacchan! I-it's fine! Really!" he looked up and the 2 stared at each other for a moment. Katsuki clicked his tongue and they continued inside.

 They finally made it to the check in desk, Izuku and Shinso stood off to the side while Katsuki and his coach checked him in. Once done, they walked up and told Izuku and Shinso where they could go grab some coffee and wait for Katsuki to finish everything he needed too. Shinso and Izuku walked around the center and admired all the other Olympians that were there. "Look! That's Neito Monama!" Izuku pointed at the swimmer standing by a bunch of reporters.

Shinso looked over and the 3 made eye contact. Monama was the last Olympic swim competition's gold medal winner and Katsuki took silver. The 2 watched Monoma pardoned himself from the reporters and headed their way. "Oh! Toshi he's coming our way! I have to get his autograph!" Izuku said fiddling his bag down and looking for his notebook.

Monoma walked over with a smile that made Shinso and Izuku somewhat a little uncomfortable. "My oh my, who would have thought Bakugou would bring his beautiful boyfriend to his compitition" he said as he approached them. Shinso's eye twitched at the comment and Izuku stood still. "Ah, Mr. Monoma. I'm a big fan" Izuku said as he reached his hand out to shake Monoma's hand. Monoma grabbed Izuku's hands and pulled him in "What's a beauty like you doing with a hothead like Katsuki Bakugou? You should be with a real winner like me" he smiled and went to kiss Izuku's hand.

Izuku ripped his hands away and Shinso stepped in between them. "That's a pretty rude thing to say to someone you don't know" Shinso glared at the gold medalist. "Pardon me, I apologize for being so rude. Once I win the gold again this year, I'll take you out. Show you what it's like to be with a real winner" Monoma smiled and headed towards the reporters to finish his interview. "What a jerk" Izuku mumbled behind Shinso as they watched him bask in glory they didn't think he deserved. "Come on, it's time to head back and check in on Bakugou" Shinso said as he grabbed Izuku's hand and led him away.

Izuku glanced back at Monoma one more time and shuddered in disgust when he received a wink. They made it to the room Bakugou was set up in and knocked on the door before opening it "Ah, there you 2 are" the coach said as he turned to see the 2 walk in the room. "He's all checked in and now we just have to wait. When is the rest of your group coming?" the coach asked and Izuku checked his watch "About another hour" he responded and then his phone rang. He handed their bags over to Shinso and pulled out his phone "Oh it's Mr. Yagi" Izuku told everyone and answered the phone.

"Hello?" he started "Oh? Already?" he looked at Shinso "Okay, I'll head to the cafeteria now" he said as he hung up the phone. "Mr. Yagi is here, I'm going to go get him." he said as he slipped his phone back in his pocket. "Need me to go with you? What if that jerk is out there still?" Shinso asked as he put the bags on the couch. "What jerk?" Katsuki said as he exited the bathroom. "That Monoma guy" Shinso responded. "It's okay, I'll be right back!" Izuku said rushing out the door.

Once Izuku left, Katsuki asked Shinso what happened with Monoma "So that asshole hit on Deku?" he scowled. "It's okay, hard as he might try, Izuku loves you. And besides, I was there too" Shinso patted Katsuki on the shoulder, walking over to the couch to pick up his own bag. "Guess now's as good a time to give you this" he reached in his bag and handed Katsuki the box with the ring in it. Katsuki took the box and opened it one more time before he put it in his swim team jacket. "It's absolutely beautiful" the coach commented as he gawked at the ring over Katsuki's shoulder.

Izuku made it back down to the cafeteria but couldn't see Yagi anywhere. He took out his phone to call when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Thinking it was Yagi he turned around and his eye widened as he realized it was Monoma again. "Ah, H-hello Mr. Monoma" he bowed slightly. "Please, Monoma is fine" he smiled back. Izuku glanced around the room "Looking for someone?" Monoma asked as he leaned in a bit closer to Izuku. He moved back "Yes, my boss is here" Izuku said as he slid Monoma's hand off his shoulder.

Yagi was looking around and finally saw Izuku on the other side of the cafeteria. He made his way over and noticed how uncomfortable Izuku was talking with the man that was with him. As he got closer, he realized it was Neito Monoma 'This can't be good' he thought as he quickened his pace. "Young Midoriya!" Yagi chanted as he walked faster waving his hand. "Mr. Y-yagi, there you are" Izuku smiled awkwardly. "Well if it isn't you Young Monoma. How have you been?" Yagi asked as he stood beside Izuku. "All Might! Wait Midoriya is All Might your boss?" Monoma smiled widely. "Y-yes, he is" Izuku said quietly.

"I see, I see!" he said looking at Yagi. "I use to coach Young Bakugou and Young Monoma when they started out" Yagi explained and Izuku looked at him and nodded. "Well, Young Monoma, it was great to see you but we should be headed out now" Yagi shook his hand and escorted Izuku back to Bakugou's waiting room. After a while, Izuku got a call telling him everyone had finally showed up and were waiting at the cafeteria for them. Everyone grabbed something to eat and waited in Bakugou's room until it was time to head to their viewing section.
