The light streamed in, waking me up to a massive head ache.
I groaned, and then gasped.
“Charis!?” I looked over, to see him asleep in his bed.
I sighed in relief, and then looked at my watch. It was midday!
I ran into the bathroom, hopped in the shower, shoved an apple into my mouth as I got dressed and dried my hair, then popped a mint into my mouth as I pulled my converse on and sped out the door, locking it as I ran down the empty hall way.
I ran and ran to the staff room.
I saw all my teachers and many more there, eating lunch and laughing.
“Um, s-s-sorry but, is Lord- I mean, Mr. Kayle here?” I asked, puffing and huffing.
Ms. Gilbert pointed to the fridge.
“You’re three and half hours late, Lacey.” He sighed. “At least you showed up. Had a nice party last night I take it?” He asked, shutting the door and coming into the corridor with me.
“I don’t remem-remember, Sir.” I breathed.
“So I take it you were drinking?” He asked, looking down at me as if I really was a whore.
“The math r-room, Sir?” I suggested.
He shook his head disapprovingly at me. “Smart ass, yes.” He said, walking down the corridor.

“Right, so if its three-quarters of a circle, it’s called a sector, so all you have to do is multiply the radius by pi (π) and then subtract the smaller part of the circle and then you have the area.” He said.
“Wait so, what’s t-th-the radius again?”
***
“Okay, here we go again.” He sighed. “The direct proportion is used to find the answer. But what is the ratio?” He pointed to the text book in front of me. “So you take these numbers and put them into a ration, then simplify it.”
I looked at it, panicking. “But h-how do I do that?”
***
“The corresponding angle is the shape of an ‘F’.” He drew in the F. “These two angles are the same.” He said pointing to the angles.
I nodded. “But what about t-th-t-the Alternate? It’s the same right?”
He gave himself a face palm. “No, Lacey, no.”
***
“That was two hours wasted on nothing. No progress no anything. You’re bloody hopeless.” He said, flipping me the finger.
I huffed, crossing my arms. “I’m just b-better at different things.”
