RECAP:

“Lacey…” He came over to help me up, but I pulled myself up by the filling cabinet. He took a step towards me.

But I stepped backwards. “No…” I looked up at him pleadingly, eyes full of tears.

He looked at me sternly. I hiccupped again. “Lacey, I…”

I ran out of the door, after unlocking it, and ran down the corridor full of people talking. I ran and ran, back to the dorm.
I ran in the door and fell to the ground.

What was going on with me? I felt that way towards Eri- no, Lord Kayle. He was a Lord, and I was a street rat.
I just lay on floor for an hour or so, drifting and waiting up from the lack of sleep and loss of blood. I crawled over to the bathroom, turning on the hot water.
What was wrong with me?

Chapter 14:

“Lacey, you have to go to class. They will start getting you into trouble.” Charis sighed, trying to pull my bed sheets back.

“I-I-I…I can’t.” I said, my voice muffled by the blanket.

“Come on, Lacey.”

I didn’t say anything. I didn’t want to leave the room. I wanted to leave this place, back home. That was all. I didn’t want to leave this bedroom. I needed to get those books back, because I wanted to make a portal to take me home.

“Lacey!” He yelled, anger filling his voice.
He ripped the sheets off of me and looked at me. This had happened three times now. But this time, he was pissed. “Get up now.” He said sternly, tugging at my arm. I was curled up in a ball and tried to tug the sheets closer to me.
But I no longer felt the warm bed. I opened my eyes and I saw that Charis was carrying me over to the bathroom. “This has got to stop. What happened anyway?” He said.

I shrugged.

“Of course, nothing, I should have guessed.” He put me down at the door of the bathroom and pushed me in gently. “Ten minutes, I am not leaving without you.”

I shut the door and stripped for the shower. “Math…”

“Hey! You got Lacey to come down.” Adam said.

“I thought she had died.” Zack joked.

Charis gave me a nervous look. “Um…yeah.” I said quietly.

They started talking about homework. Yes, homework. As well as porn, but I managed to tune that out. The small amount of food on my plate had disappeared and I was soon walking out of the eating hall in an attempt to escape; because my next lesson was English.

“Where are you going?” Charis asked from behind me.

I turned around, a guilty look on my face. “Toilet?” I tried, but it came out as a question.

“I’m taking you to English.” He shook his head.

“I can find the r-room myself, you know?” I insisted.

He sighed. “If I find out that you didn’t go, there’s going to be war.” He smirked.

“If you must.” I sighed myself, turning around.

“Seriously, Lacey, just go to class.” He commented sternly.

“F-fine.” I muttered.

I walked off and out of the dining hall alone. The corridors had a few people leaning on the walls; talking, laughing, doing homework. Homework, I should have done that. I frowned. They won’t give me detentions, it’s only homework.
I turned down the corridor to my English room and the bell went. I went inside, sitting down and dragging out my books from the backpack on my back which I had gotten from under my bed…I don’t know if it was a normal thing or if it was actually Charis’ but he said it was mine. Which it wasn’t really, but it helped a lot. Most other people had bags, I had arms.
