--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RECAP - CHAPTER 17: He walked down the corridor, faster and I walked quietly behind him. He knew I was behind him but he didn’t turn backwards. He took a left and I ran to where he was. I stood, looking at him, as he leaned on the wall, head down and a smirk on his face.

I held my dress up slightly as I walked towards him, one word escaping my lips as he looked up at me.

“Eric.”

Chapter 18:

“Eric.” I said quietly.

He looked at me with his blue eyes and smirked as I slowly walked closer to him. “So you remembered.” He said just as quietly.

I blinked, frowning and nodding. Then I shook my head. “I don’t know.” I said honestly.

His smirk turned into a sad frown. “So you don’t?”

Was he def? “I said, I don’t know.” I looked at him, stopping as I was a meter or two away and out of plain sight.

“You don’t know?” He pushed. I shook my head, exasperated as the stupid man couldn’t take ‘I don’t know’ for an answer.

“Where…where is she?” I asked, embarrassed that I was relying on my dreams.

“She?” He asked. I looked to the floor.

“The blond girl with the red dress.” I whispered.

“So you do remember?” He smiled faintly. I looked at him.

“So it was real?”

“What do you mean?”

I blinked.“I had a dream.”

He smiled at me, shaking his head while letting out a laugh through his nose. “So that’s how they’re coming back.”

“They?” I asked, confused.

He let out another quiet laugh. “Are you drunk?”

I frowned. “I had two drinks.”

“That would explain the lack of stuttering.” He muttered to himself.

Taking a step forward, he enveloped me in a hug, his hand on my head. He whispered something and my head hurt like hell. Bombs, I thought of bombs, hitting my head. Bloody, fire, lava, heat, pain…there was too much of it. Images flashed through my head as my knees got weak and buckled a bit. I let out a tiny cry of pain. Images of a boy and girl. Images of adults. They flooded my head, making it want to burst.

Another cry of pain escaped my lips and I tried to hold my head together but my heads wouldn’t move. I fell onto someone’s knees or legs.

“Smile! Good things will happen!” The boy laughed, holding my hand.

A tear escaped my eye as a wave of pain hit.

I moaned, trying to open my eyes, but all I saw was the boy.
