The next few days followed pretty much as the last. Roma and I would lounge around all day, we'd be out with the girls of an evening and at night I'd go to bed with Tom. I'd begun to feel completely comfortable in his presence now I'd begun to joke around and tease him slightly the first few times I was worried he was going to slam my head against a wall but he seemed different now softer like he'd let his guard down.

Today it was sunny the first real day of spring we were all lay in the garden I was lay across toms lap reading while he spoke to bill and Gustav about cars. Roma was sunbathing next to bill and georg was attempting to figure out how the barbecue worked he also has mellowed these past few days he wasn't exactly friendly but he didn't want us dead anymore either.

The bell at the gate sounded I placed my book down, Tom frowned at bill.

"We expecting people?" Tom asked

Bill shook his head.

"I'll go" said Gustav

He walked slowly across the garden to the gate I picked my book back up and continued reading. Five or so minutes later I could see Gustav walking back to us quickly a concerned expression on his face.

"If it's bad news I don't want to hear it" Tom chucked but Gustavs expression didn't ease up.

He handed Tom a piece of paper.

"They were put up outside all the clubs there's 100's of them everywhere" Gustav said

I sat up to look at what it said,

'Kill the German scum' the paper said a photo of Tom and bill underneath.

"Who would write those" I asked

"Fuck knows but we need to find out before this escalates" bill said they all nodded.

They all stood up and went inside whistling at georg to leave his failing barbecue and follow them.

"What the fuck" I whispered staring at the note tom had left behind.

Roma took it from my studying it with a frown before scrunching it up.

"Just stupid kids I bet nothing to worry about don't look so frightened it's just a piece of paper" she giggled throwing the scrunched up ball at my face.

I smiled but felt unsure something about it made my stomach do a back flip.

The boys came back after an hour or two visibly irritated but they all returned to sitting with us Georg returned to his barbecue trying to light it again.

That evening we took the girls out I handed them their bags and stood and watched as they got on with their jobs. I became aware I was being watched I turned to look at Tom expecting to see him staring but it wasn't. I began to glance around the room until I found the eyes on me. Then I saw him the Russian man from the night before he was stood in a corner with two men and a large group of girls smirking at me. Goosebumps appeared on my arm I shivered and turned back to the girls.

Then I saw rose headed straight for the back door. Shit no I had to stop her I ran towards her no intention of harming her every intention of saving her life. I grabbed her arm just as she reached the door.

"Going somewhere" I whispered

"Away from you" she hissed

"Not smart trust me"

"What will you do about it"

I rolled my eyes at this

"I'm trying to keep you safe here rose you might hate me but I sure as hell don't like you but I don't want you to to get hurt it's as simple as that"
