The Owl House: Daughter of the Emperor

An Inconvenience

  Baby Luz looked up at the strange woman's face. As she examined her, she noticed her ears were pointy just like she had seen on the big black box in her mama's living room.

  "Uh uppy!!" Baby Luz told Eda as she reached her tiny arms out, to be picked up. "Sorry kid, but I don't mess with babies" Eda said looking back at her stall, bird-watching the other demons.

   Luz cried loudly as she wasn't picked up. "Fine!!~" Eda whined, picking up the child. "Happy now?" She asked as Luz had stopped crying and looked at the sights around her and Eda.

   "Well if it isn't my sister~" Another strange voice called. A lady dressed in a long dark blue dress and dark blue hair walked out, with a cloak on her head and a large white stick in her hand. "Lilith...." Eda claimed.

   "What now? Kidnapping other people's children?" Lilith called out chuckling a little bit. "Pfft, No! This BABY had just walked towards me and asked to be picked up!" Eda scoffed.

   "I'm sorry, what? There is no way, a baby would ask you to pick them up"

    "Well this one did! And I have to admit I am actually flattered. She must've liked my good charms. Y'know babies go to people they like looking at. .....That sounded better in my head." Eda blushed out of embarrassment.

   "Well anyway, give her to me so I can return her to her parents." Lilith said with her hand reached out for baby Luz.

   While the two were arguing, baby Luz noticed  a butterfly with the head of a person. Reaching out for it, baby Luz nearly fell out of Eda's arms, not being able to reach the mysterious creature.

   "Caught you!" Eda called. "Wahhh!" Baby Luz cried out of fear. Eda brought baby Luz's head to her shoulder and started patting her on the back, not knowing what to do with a crying baby.

   "You don't know what you're doing, do you Edalyn?"

   "Pfft, sure I do, just..... Pat the babies back and......"

   "*Sigh* you don't. Just give her to me so I can take her to her family"

   "Look at her ears, Lilith!! She's a human!" Eda called out pointing to baby Luz's ears.

   Luckily no one was around to hear, but Lilith looked carefully at the baby's ears with an astonished look. "What?! How could a human be in the boiling isles?! Let alone a BABY!!" Lilith cried.

    "Look, I have no idea! Now tell me what it is you want and leave!"

    "Eda...... *Tsk* I came here for you originally, but now I'm afraid I have to take you both," Lilith said as she pulled out her staff from thin air. Lilith stood in her fighting stance, ready to fight Eda.

   "Give me the child Edalyn! Or I will force you"

  "Oh please, like I'll give her to you, you'll take her to the emperor and he is not who you think he is!"

    "Maybe that's true, but I STILL need to take you to him!" Lilith said as a blue, glass orb surrounded baby Luz and floated her away towards Lilith, leaving her on the side.

   "LILITH!!!" Eda screamed as she summoned her staff with an Owl on the top and threw fireballs at Lilith. Lilith casted a blue shield to protect herself from the fireballs, spun her staff in front of her sending blue lightning bolts towards Eda.

   Eda luckily dodged the attack, continuing this strategy. A few minutes later, Eda made a huge circle In front her, opened her arms and sent a huge light, blinding Lilith.

   CRAAAAASH!!

   The light from Eda's circle had blinded Lilith for a while as she flew into her stand from a spell she didn't know Lilith had put before her attack, a mirror spell.

   As Eda was getting up, she saw Lilith pointing her staff at her while keeping Luz behind her, asleep (Lilith put the sleeping spell before the fight).

  "*Huff* *Huff* Face it Lilith, you'll never catch me!" Eda said trying to catch her breath as her hair was caught on rusted metal pieces.

  "Oh sister, you'll see. I'll come back for you and hopefully you'll join me in the Emperor's coven. He can heal you..."

   "No he can't! No one can! And I'm perfectly fine, curse or no curse! I won't join the coven!" Eda yelled, criticizing Lilith for believing the Emperor.

    "Fine then, Just know this won't be the only time I'll be trying to convince you"

    "Fine! And I'll be ready!" Eda threw her arms in the air, angrily as Lilith left, not caring about what Lilith says. She knew Lilith would never win, at least while she had her powers.

    "Wait..... Where's the baby? WHERES THE BABY?! BABY?! Oh no......... Lilith....."
