The Owl House: Daughter of the Emperor

A surprise Visit

  In the afternoon, Eda was playing Hexis Hold'em with King in the kitchen while Hooty was the referee.

  "AWW! Come on!!" King cried out. Eda laughed, holding her arms to her stomach, "Relax! It's just a game!" Eda said calming down.

  "I don't know...you've been playing really unfairly Eda..." Hooty said. Hooty was a bird tube that came from the front door. Even though it was only seen once, Hooty is able to separate from the house to another holding place. Hooty, being the referee, was wearing a striped baseball cap and whistle on his head and neck.

  "Oh Hooty. Me? Playing unfairly? I think that's a bit too low even for me" Eda said. Hooty and King stared at Eda, annoyed. "Oh alright. fine...Yes I do cheat, but not at Hexis Hold'em!" She backed up. "Fine. But I want lunch..." King whined as he held his belly, looking at it with a little pout.

  "I think you two have had enough of Hexis Hold'em" Hooty said as he started to clean up the cards with his beak. "Oh, Hooty... You go find Luz and Hunter while I clean this up"

  "Okay!!" Hooty yelled excitedly, going through the house to find Luz and Hunter when he came back even more excited.

  "Clawthorne parents are here!!" Hooty yelled, doing hoops and stretching across the whole house.

  "Mom?! DAD?!" Eda yelled, freaked. Running to the door, opening it.

  "Oh hello there witchlet" Grandma said, holding her staff and walking inside. "how are the little Witchlings?"
Grandma asked.

  "Luz and Hunter should be here soon. King is in the kitchen-"

  "not anymore!!! grandma!!" King yelled, his arms wide open and his eyes closed as he ran towards Gwendolyn. "King!! How's my grandson!!" She asked, reaching for King as he jumped into her arms, wagging his little tail.

  "*Giggles* I'm great grandma!!"

  "I'm glad. Now where are the other babies?"

  "Luz and Hunter are out with their friends at the Carnival"

  "The carnivals open already? Oh my, I wasn't expecting this"

  "Neither was I.." Eda butted in, crossing her arms.

  "Oh boy..." King said. "Hooty hoot!! I'm here!!" Hooty screamed as he did a loop de loop in the middle of the room.

  "Mr. Clawthorne wants to come in!! Hoot!!" Hooty said, moving out of the way. "Edalyn...wonderful to see you again" Grandpa said, walking inside with his cane.

  "Hi dad..." Eda said sorrowfully.

  "What's the matter? not happy to see your dad?"

  "No...that's not it. I just...I'm sorry for what I did...for what the curse did..." Eda said, looking down.

  "It's alright. It's in the past. Now where are my grandchildren?" Grandpa asked, excitedly as he hugged Eda.

  "Apparently they're at the carnival, dear" Grandma responded.

  "The carnival is open? well then we should let them have their fun while they can"

  "They were originally supposed to go to school. wondering why they didnt..." Eda said, gripping her arm.

  "Leave them be witchlet. You know the carnival is only open for one day anyway" Grandma responded to Eda's temper, putting her hand on her shoulder.

  "*Sighs* fine. alright. I'll let them go..." Eda said, calming down a bit.

  "Who wants belly rubs and cookies?" grandpa asked, looking at King with a smile.

  "Me! Me! I do! I do!" King said, jumping up and down.

  All three adults chuckled and laughed while Grandpa picked up King, giving him belly rubs and tickles.

  With Luz, Hunter, Willow, and Gus...

  "Hey Luz! Wanna go into the mirror house?" Willow asked.

   "Sure! What do you say Hunter?" Luz asked, looking at Hunter happily.

  "I say it's fine. As long as we don't get lost." Hunter replied. "We won't! They have paths inside leading from the entrance to the exit" Willow clarified. "Then let's go!!" Gus said, grabbing Willows arm, dragging her to the mirror house along with Luz and Hunter.

  All four friends had fun in the mirror house, making fun of their new head and body shapes. All the different looks they tried out in the enchanted mirrors. one of them even had Luz as a cloaked figure dressed in the night sky. You could faintly see it, but Luz had white hair, orange and red eyes, half of her head had a large dark blue crescent moon on it.

  "Woah! Why do I look like that?" Luz asked, pointing to herself.

  "Looks like what?" Hunter asked, walking over. Willow and Gus had their attention hooked and joined into the reflection, but everyone of their faces were like stars, Luz looked completely different.

  "Woah!! This is amazing! It's like we are in a photographic mirror!" Gus said, excitedly. "I have to admit, I like this look" Willow said, holding her chin.

  Hunter froze at the sight of Luz. As if recognizing the design and face of her in the reflection. "Hunter? Is everything okay?" Luz asked, looking at him.

  "Yeah...everything's fine..let's go before tibbles finds out we are in here..." Hunter said, pushing everyone out of the view of the mirror.

   "Tibbles? Why would he be here?" Luz asked. "He is dressed up in a disguise, but I see him watching our every move, so we better get going" Hunter answered. "Alright..." Luz said.

  Willow and Gus waved bye and flew away on their staffs heading home.

  "Hop on" Hunter said, pulling out FlapJack, turning him into staff form. Luz hopped onto Hunter's staff, allowing him to fly both of them home.

   Luz and Hunter made it home when Luz recognized a certain bird Palisman. "Birdie!!!" Luz yelled, jumping off FlapJack and running to her grandmas Palisman who hugged her back when she came over.

  "Birdie? Don't they have a name?" Hunter asked, hopping off of FlapJack as he turned back to a bird. "Yeah, but I call him Birdie! He got used to it after the first couple times. If he is here, then grandma and grandpa are here!" Luz said, running inside the house excitedly.

  "Grandma and Grandpa? They're here?" Hunter questioned, following Luz.

  "Grandma! Grandpa!" Luz said, hugging the both of them. "There's our little Biscuit!! Grandma screamed with joy as she hugged Luz tightly. "How is our little Luz?" Grandpa asked.

  "So much happier that you're here! Hunter! Come on!" Luz yelled as Hunter just walked in. "*Sighs* Alright. Hi Grandma, hi grandpa" Hunter said, not as enthusiastic as Luz, but hugged them since they were family and Luz wanted him to join in.

  "Aww! This is adorable!" Hooty said, taking a polaroid and snapped a picture of them hugging.

  "Let me join! Let me join! King yelled with his arms in the air, running over to the group. "*Chuckles* of course King. Edalyn, won't you join too?" Grandpa asked. "Sure dad" Eda said, walking over and joining the family hug. Hooty wrapped around them as he held up the polaroid again.

"Everyone say Scream cheese!"

"SCREAM CHEESE!" Everyone had yelled, looking at the camera lenses as Hooty took the picture.
