19: Curiosity

I tried to sleep, but by midnight (I have clock) I was still awake. Something about what happened earlier in the rainforest made me curious. Was I seeing things? Or was it really a portal? I couldn't stand my own curiosity, so I stopped trying to sleep and left flying towards the rainforest near Amber's house.

As I was flying, it started raining. I quickly landed before I fell from having drenched feathers. I don't like the rain, but I didn't have my umbrella with me. Both me and the writer know I'm not walking through this rain without one, so I used story logic to bring my umbrella to me. Now that I had an umbrella, I opened it and kept walking.

I finally made it to Amber's house, and started walking through the rainforest. I know it'd be destroying nature, but I'd burn it down if I had it near my house. Snakes could be in there. I don't like snakes. They're scary. I didn't want the umbrella just to protect myself from the rain, but also from other living creatures.

The rainforest is a lot scarier at night. I could hear shuffling and other sorts of animal noises, but couldn't see them. Hopefully none of them eat ducks. Suddenly, I heard a growling noise. I panicked, and started running. I could feel a bunch on leaves and thin branches brush against my face as I ran.

I don't know how long I was running for when I reached the clearing in the center. I saw that the portal was still there. It emitted an eerie, pink and white glow. It was also making swirling, wooshing noises, and soft whispers. I'd never seen or heard something like this, and I was bored of my life already. Nervously, I step through the portal. I hear the whispers grow louder as my consciousness fades.
