On Friday morning, before going to work, Chelsea decided to call her of mum to inform her of her absence from her super market, this coming weekend and intentions not to visit her parents this weekend.

" Hello mummy, how are you?" She greeted and asked her mum.

"Hi dear, I'm fine my darling daughter, who abandoned me" Her mum said.

" No, I didn't abandon you" Chelsea told her.

" So why haven't you call me since you got back to your place?" Her mum asked her.

" I was planning to call you, but since I was going to call you today, I decided to wait till today to call you. Hope you are not angry with me?" Chelsea asked, " I'm sorry, I promise to call you everyday from now on " She told her mum.

" Who do you want to disturb?. You that can not even call me once in a week" Her mum said playfully.

" Okay, I will try at least twice in a week" Chelsea promised her.

" You that I know, if you say so. So to what do I own this honour, for your call today?" Her mum asked.

" Well you know I love you so much" She asked her mum.

" Please, get to the point and stop buttering me up" Her mum warned.

" I need to ask you for a favor" Chelsea replied.

" I knew it that you wanted something, that's why you ditched out I love you so easily. But go on anyway" Her said to her.

" But I'm not like that" Chelsea said, " I want you to promise me you will grant me my request first?" Chelsea asked her.

" I can't say yes until I know your request first" Her mum told her.

" Okay, I want to ask if I can get this weekend off from work at the super market?" Chelsea asked her mum.

" Why, may I ask?" Her mother asked.

" Well, I have something to do or somewhere to be this weekend" Chelsea told her.

" Something like what or somewhere like where?" Her mother asked.

" I will tell you later" Chels Replied.

" Like I told you, I can't say yes without knowing what I'm agreeing or giving my consent to" Her mum stood her ground.

" Okay, I am going out with a friend" Chelsea admitted.

" Which of your friends?" Her mum asked.

" Well, it's a new friend" She told her mum.

" You made a new friend, that's great. So is this new friend someone I know?" Her mother asked.

" Mum you don't have to know all my friends" Chelsea replied.

" That means this new friend of yours is not someone I know" Her mum said.

" Not really, I guess" Chelsea said.

" What's her name?" Her mum asked.

" Mum the person can also be a he, you know" Chelsea told her mother.

" Well I didn't think it was a he, since I didn't know you had a male friend" Her mum replied, " So is it a he or she?" Her mum asked.

" Why all this questions?. I'm not interviewing for a job or I'm I?" Chelsea asked.

" Mind your tone young lady, I am your mother "Mrs Okoro rebuked her daughter, " I'm asking all this questions, because I want to know and I care for you. You can not just go out with someone you just met. The list goes on of what a dangerous stranger can do to you. What if you are drugged, Kidnapped or even killed? " Chelsea's mum asked Her.

" I wouldn't be, Kevwe knows about the person" Chelsea told her mum.

" Well, I'm sorry to break it to you but I'm your mum and she is your best friend, and before her I was" Her mum told.

" Okay, the person is a male" She replied.

" Wow, that is good news. So should I ask , is he our potential in law?" Her mother asked.

" Mum!, we are just friends and getting to know each other" She said in defense.

" Is it wrong to ask, where your relationship is headed?" Her mum asked.

" I didn't tell you we are headed anywhere" She told her mum.

" Well, you better be headed somewhere good, because I want to be a grandma someday" Her mum told her.

" That does not mean every friend I make or someone I meet, especially a male friend is my potential husband" She said to mum.

" Okay, but it is not a wrong thing to hope?" Her mother asked.

" Well, keep praying and hoping, it will happen someday. But I'm not ready now, because I really want to build my business and my brand " Chelsea told her mum.

" My daughter there is no right time, because if now is not the time , no time may ever be. Love has a way of happening and it does not have a particular time. You can grow your business while you find love and get married, you just have to manage your time right. Don't be too focuse on your business and forget you also need your own family" Her mum advices.

" But you and Dad are my family" She said to her mum.

" Yes we are, but I and your dad have each other. You need to have someone, just like I have your dad and your own children too. You also need your husband and children, not only your business" Her mum told her

" Okay, mum I have heard you. So do I have the weekend of ?" Chelsea asked.

" I know what you are trying to do. You are trying to change the topic of our conversation, but don't worry we will continue from where we stop. You can have the weekend off, but be careful. You can go with Kevwe on your outing or just make sure you don't go to an isolated place with this your mysterious person, ensure you go to somewhere that is crowded" Her mum told her, " And keep me updated of your whereabouts" She added.

" Thanks mum" She greeted her mum.

" You are welcome dear. See you next week Friday. Behave yourself, so that my future in-law will know I trained you and brought you up well. And remember to meet him in an expose place filled with people, you can even go with your friend" Her mum said to her.

" Mum!, I'm not a child that always need a chaperone when going out" Chelsea told her mum.

" But you are still my child, are you not?" Her mother asked.

" Yes I am" Chelsea answered.

" And being careful is not childish, but it is being wise. Only someone foolish calls carefulness foolishness, so don't be that kind of person" Her mum said.

" Okay mum, thank you" Chelsea replied.

" Give me the name, address and phone number of this person, before you go" Her mum said.

" I got to go mum, I will call you later, bye" Chelsea cut the call in a haste.

" This girl is trying me" Her mum murmured, " She shouldn't worry, I have my ways of getting information" Her mum added, as she prepared to go to her super market.
