CHAPTER 28

   " Hello" Chelsea said as Dennis picked.   
    " I will call you back" He said as he cut the call and called her back. 
    " Hi dear" Dennis said to her, " Oh sorry " Dennis apologize as he realized that he had made a blunder by calling her dear, since she had previously warned against it. 
   " No, problem" She told him. 
  " Thanks" Dennis replied. 
  " I saw your gift" She told him. 
  " Oh, you did already" Dennis asked. 
  " Yes, I did or didn't you want me to see it?" She asked him. 
  " No, not that. I just thought since you were angry with me , it would take you long to see the book. I even thought you would even throw it away without looking at it, because of the stunt I pulled on our date" He said 
  " I would never do that. I will look at it first and if it is something bad, before I will even think to do such a thing" She told him, " I'm I that bad that you would think I will do that?' She asked him. 
  " No, I don't think you are like that. 
I just thought with  the magnitude of what I did, you are even suppose to throw my gift away after I pulled such a stunt and you will be right if you do so and I am genuinely and sincerely sorry for what I did and I promise you it wasn't ever planned, it just happiness and if you give me a chance. I will try my possible best to control my emotions next time" He promised. 
  " Well, from.my call I guess you already know or have sensed that I'm going to give our friendship another chance" She informed him. 
  " And I'm so grateful, thank you" He told her. 
  " Would you be dropping your sisters in school tomorrow?" She asked him. 
  "Yes, why do you ask?" He asked. 
    " Nothing much, is just that if you will ; we will be seeing each other" She told him shyly. 
  " Oh, okay. But that would be great, right?" He asked. 
  " Yes, right" She replied, " So how do you know that I wanted this book?" She asked him. 
  " Well, it was that day we met at the supermarket. When you were shopping for groceries. I kind of wanted till you finished shopping before I got the book and finally left" He told her, not telling her the entire truth that he followed her that day, " While waiting I saw you go into the book session and you picked up a book and was going through it for a while. After you left  
the book session of the supermarket, I move to the book shelves to get a closer look at the book and to also know the name. And a thought came to me, that that I should just buy the book, because from the look on your face when you were going through the book, someone observing from afar like me , will think you were in love with the book, like the way you would love someone. And I just wanted to know what was in that book that can get you to have that look or expression on your face, that even if I tried in a million years I wouldn't be able to get that look on your face, because you were so entrance in it. You were smiling so much and I said to myself , that I have to get that book so that I can get that smile on you face" He told her, " Hope I did?" He asked. 
  " I think" She replied. 
  " You think or you know?" He asked, " Please give a guy something to hold on to" He said to her. 
  " Okay , I was happy when I saw the gift" She told. him, " No, I would say I was very happy. I always  wanted a hardcover of this book" She told him. 
  " You are welcome. It has been my pleasure to make you happy " He replied, " Even had to read it in order to know what it was about and I truly enjoyed it, so I got myself one and kept the one I gifted you for just for yourself" He told her.
  " But wow!" She said. 
 " Yes, wow" He agreed. 
  " But I would tell you, you do have a little stalker tendency, sometimes" She told him. 
  " Tell me what I don't know" He agreed, " For you I will do anything,but just know I will never hurt you or do anything to hurt you" He told her. 
 " Yes, I think; but I'm not sure yet. I'm yet to find out. But it is the thought that counts and you had to go through all that , to get me something you didn't know I even always wanted  and for that I say thank you" She appreciated. 
  " You are welcome" He accepted, " I didn't know getting you a book would get you to be so sweet to me, if In knew In would have bought you the entire bookshop" He joked. 
 " Oh, stop it" She warned him playfully, " It is just because it this book , that's why I'm being nice to you and giving you another chance. And it seems like you like taking chances and very soon you might run out of all your chances, so don't push your luck" She told him. 
  " That's true. I do take chances, but don't worry I wouldn't do anything that would make me run out of it and to make you stop giving them  to me or annoy you to the extent that I loss my chance with you and opportunity to be with you" He said. 
  " You better" She told him seriously this time.
