Kevwe picks after the phone rang for the third time, thinking that the person would cut the call after the third ring and when the u know caller didn't quite she decided to pick the call. She wasn't in a good mood, because of her experience today with one of her customers.
" Hello" Kevwe said, as she picked the call.
" Hi..." Lucas replied, shut of words.
" Sorry to ask , please who is this ?" Kevwe asked.
" It's Lucas" He answered.
" Oh, hi" She said.
" I got your number from Dennis" Lucas informs her.
" I know" Kevwe replied, " So how may I help you?" She asked.
" You don't have to be rude or be straight to the point" Lucas commented.
" Sorry",She apologized, " I just had a bad day" She clarifies why she responded like that and why she was in a bad mood.
" What happened?" He asked concerned.
" I had a difficult customer" She disclosed.
" Hope you two were able to settle the difficulty?" He asked.
" Yes, we did. Thanks for asking " She replied.
" How are you?" Lucas asked.
" I'm fine" She replied, " And you?" She asked.
" I'm fine" He replied, " I called to asked you out" He told her.
" As what?" She asked rudely, as her mood changed back to how it was, when he first call.
" First as friend, then we can proceed from there" He said sincerely, " I just want you to be aware about my intentions. I'm sorry I just said it straight out, but I don't want my intentions to be a secret " He added.
" But I thought I said I wasn't interested in whatever you are up to?"She asked.
" I know you said you weren't interested, but I was hoping that I might change your mind and we can even start as friends, just like Dennis and Chelsea" He said pleading.
" That's Chelsea and Dennis, they are in love and we aren't" She pointed out to him.
" I know, but What you don't know is that I like you very much. I might not call it love now, but I'm very much attracted to you"He informs her.
" I knew from the beginning that it was not just friendship you were after" She told him," I'm not sure I can work with just " LIKE", I'm sorry" She told him with emphasis on the word "LIKE", since that's what he was feeling for her right now, and so many times the guys that felt like that for her usually end up living, after they have wasted her time, by telling her that they should be friends first and that in the future they will be more and they knew deep down in their heart that they just needed a female friend.
So these days she asks guys to state their intentions and if it is any relationship outside friendship, she is not interested. People may say that's wrong of a 25 year old , but that's their own opinion. And you have to do what's better for your health, before you think yourself to death with high blood pressure. To her it is better to be clear with people about the kind of relationship you have with them, before tomorrow or later in the future they will say you used them , accuse you of playing with their feelings and leading them on, when at the beginning you told them you were just friends. And the ones you actually like and told about your feelings of love for them, will start playing with your feelings and commonizing it. Your actual true and genuine feelings. Some of those so called guys you told from the beginning that you were just friends, will just agree with you, thinking you will change your mind. Tomorrow they will start writing post how women are wicked. Being careful is not wrong, so that no ones feelings get hurt in the end. What people don't know is that when you find someone that actually care about you, it is more than anything else in the world, because these days love is not easy to get. Whether it is friendship or romantic love, just name it. Having someone that care for you, even if it doesn't lead to romantic love, is worth more than gold or any priced jewel or precious stone. In a world where love is hard to find.
Although love is actually everywhere, we all just have to treat others and love them as ourselves. And if it will result to love, it will; because what will be will be. If you love someone you love them, but if you don't; you will or might never love them back. Which is painful but true, so if you don't love someone tell them, don't make them prisoners for your love or for loving you. Set them free so that they will find someone else to love , who will love them back. Loving someone is not a crime, it is the most natural thing, although many despise it , because they don't know the value. But she doesn't want to be that person, but honesty like they say; is the best policy.
" But if you can try and don't worry in time, I'm sure love will develop between us" He reassure her.
" It's possible , but what if it doesn't. Our friendship will be jeopardize. We will become total strangers , even more than we were when we first met each other. We will become uncomfortable around each other when our best friends get married.And that might end our friendship with them because we wouldn't be able to stand each other and that is not fair to them or to either of us" She told him.
" But it will be wrong if I don't try to discover if you are my true love" Lucas told her truthfully.
" If you are not sure now , you will never be. I'm not a lab rat who is going to be used for a Lab experiment. I am a full breathing Human being" She said, " And I'm sure it can't work, there are another reason. One being that I'm older than you" She added.
" But that is just by only one year" Lucas pleaded.
" You can't quantify One year as just only to me" She told him,"The only thing that I can offer is friendship. I can't give you false hope and I can't make you a place holder for someone else. I will never do that to someone else, it will even hurt me if I am told or I discover that I am a place holder. Like I said before this relationship can ruins the chance of our friends relationship" She explained.
" If friendship is what you want, I'm willing to try and I will accept it" He said defeated.
" Okay truce , friends?" She asked.
" Friends" He agreed reluctantly.
"This is my WhatsApp number, you can reach me with it " She told him.
" And this is mine" He replied.
" Okay, bye" She bid him.
" Okay, bye for now. Have a nice day" He said and he ended the call
