WHERE GREEN MEETS YELLOW
mattheo riddle - hp universe
act one - chapter nine
" the yule ball ""she looks like a goddamn goddess, zabini." muttered mattheo, shoving his face in his hands.
"yeah, a goddess that you were too pussy to ask to the dance." he added in response.
"shut up."
"ok, so they do in fact have an open punch bowl that is not guarded by a professor. who brought the alcohol again?" lorenzo asked, walking up to the boys.
theodore sighed. "me." he said as he stood up.
"wait, you're spiking the punch?" asked mattheo.
"hell yeah, dude." said draco, standing up as well.
"get me a glass." he said back, blaise instructing them to do the same for him.
"i can't believe you never asked her." said blaise.
"worst part is, weasley asked her right in front of me."
"what?"
"yeah, during that dance thing for minnie." he sighed. "he asked her and then we did the spin thing and she told me he did and then when we span back she looked right at me as she told him yes."
"you dumbass." muttered blaise, causing him to turn.
"thank you, i know that blaise."
"you were supposed to tell her no." he chuckled.
"what?"
"you were supposed to fight for her. tell her you wanted her to go with you. with us, even."
"oh my god." he said, rubbing his face in disappointment.
"i can't believe how oblivious you are." he laughed, rubbing his back. enzo came back and set down mattheo's drink in front of him, before walking over and setting blaise's in front of him, as he sat next to him.
"who, matt? oh yeah." lorenzo nodded.
"i hate both of you."
"love you, too, matty." draco said, patting his back as he sat next to enzo. theodore was quiet as he followed, sitting in between him and mattheo.
"you guys are terrible dates, by the way. pretty sure you're not supposed to be sitting with your single friend.
meanwhile, charlotte sat, head in chin, as she stared at the boy she longed for. "what am i doing here?" she sighed.
"what do you mean?" asked chloe. she, charlotte, hannah, pansy, and daphne were all sat at one table, the other girls scattered around with their dates.
"sitting at this table, all glammed up, and for what? just so he'll notice me?"
"oh trust me, fred's noticed you." said chloe.
hannah watched the expression on her face. "but that's who she's talking about." she said, knowing exactly what was going on.
"but that's her date." said pansy, not picking up.
"doesn't matter." smiled daphne as she knew.
pansy watched charlotte's eye-line, seeing she was staring at her friend's table. "oh." she dragged out the word as she realized.
"what?" asked chloe, looking at the girls.
hannah nodded towards the table of boys, and her eyes widened. "oh my god." smiled chloe. "wait, so you wanted him to ask you?"
