WHERE GREEN MEETS YELLOW
mattheo riddle - hp universe
act one - chapter fifteen
" missing or drowned "ever since they'd had their talk, mattheo and charlotte were inseparable. they'd meet up before every class and mattheo would walk to each one, holding her hand the entire way, even if it meant he was a bit late to his own classes.
as they headed towards their potions class, the headmaster passed the two before stopping and calling the girl. "charlotte, may i see you for a moment? bring your stuff." she nodded and kissed mattheo's cheek before following professor dumbledore.
as the girl was lead to his office, mattheo turned and continued his journey to class. once he walked in, his eyes landed on his friends at the back of the class.
"hey where's charlotte? your always attached at the bloody hip." mumbled theodore.
"dumbledore asked to speak with her, whatever that means." he mumbled, sitting in his usual seat.
"awe, is your girlfriend not at your side for every waking minute?" mocked draco.
"shut it, malfoy."

as the day continued on, worry filled mattheo's mind as he noticed charlotte hadn't returned from her talk with professor dumbledore.
"where's char?" enzo asked, sitting down next to the boy. "i haven't seen her all day."
"i don't know. dumbledore called her into his office, but i haven't heard from her since."
enzo furrowed his brows, but before he could respond, the booming voice of the headmaster filled the room. "attention all students." the boys turned their heads. "your next periods are all canceled—" he was cut off by cheers. the man waited for the students to calm down before continuing on. "in honor of the second trial. after your meals, please gather outside to watch the next step in our tri-wizard tournament."
reactions varied once the man stopped talking. some clapped, a lot of people chattered, but mattheo remained quiet.
"anyways, do you think she's in trouble?" enzo asked, eating some chicken.
"who?"
"charlotte, stupid."
"no, she's not in trouble. she doesn't do shit. and i'd be in trouble before she would. even potter would be in trouble before her."
"potter's got his own type of trouble."
mattheo hummed in agreement, finishing his food before draco suggested they head out. the boys nodded and mattheo, enzo, theodore, draco, and blaise stood, heading towards the oversized doors of the grand hall.
as they approached the black lake, mattheo's eyes set onto cedric, harry, fleur, and viktor. he watched all them in their swim suits, stretching and preparing for the upcoming trial. pushing away from his friends, mattheo walked up to cedric.
"hey, where's lottie?"
"who?"
"uh, charlotte."
"i don't know." he shrugged. "she said she'd be here, but i haven't seen her all day."
"yeah, me either." he lied, before patting cedric on his shoulder. "good luck, man." he said, before turning and leaving.
"mattheo." he called, causing the brunette to turn around again.
"yeah?"
"thank you."
"no problem." mattheo said, not entirely sure why he was thanking him.
