Amelia had been sitting next to Miguel in the library. The two of them had been paired for a Biology project a few days ago. The past few days of working together, Amelia found herself enjoying his company. He was a funny, yet dorky guy who Mia more the likely wouldn't usually be hanging out with. But she found herself excited for their science classes together.

"You should come join Cobra Kai," Miguel said, as Amelia had been taking notes. Amelia looked up at him questionably. "Come on, it'll be fun. Aisha will be there. Plus it would make you even more badass,"

Amelia thought for a moment. "Fine. But you are drawing the diagrams for this project,"
"Deal"

Amelia had been in the Cobra kai dojo. In a room fully of mostly sweaty teenage boys. She stayed up front with Miguel and Aisha. She felt uncomfortable being here. Being pushed out of her comfort zone was not something she was very fawn of.  She also wasn't a fan of doing things she wasn't good at, so karate was making her nervous.

"Jab punch," Lawrence had said, walking around. Amelia got into the position.  Some students already went to punch, once made their 'sensei' speak up again.
"Nope, wait till I say go," there was a brief pause before. "Hiyah,"
That's when Amelia punched the air ahead of her, looking at how Miguel was doing it.
"Hiyah", kept being repeated over and over as Johnny walked around, giving corrections.
He walked over to Amelia, once made her start to internally panic. "Good. Just make sure that your feet are more planted, like this." he said adjusting the girl slightly. That's when he looked up and caught his eye on someone new.

"Hey Lip. Yeah you, the one with the freaky lip. Who do you think I'm talking to?"
"Excuse me, Mr. Lawrence-"
"Sensei Lawrence!"
Demetri gave a slight chuckle, "Okay. You really shouldn't make fun of someone's physical appearance."
"Oh is that so? So I'm not suppose to mention his lip at all?"
"Well...yeah"
"Maybe that's what they teach you in school, but this is the real world, in the real world you can't expect people to do what they're suppose to do. Right? You hear that Lip? If you can't handle someone making fun of you, how are you gonna handle an elbow to the teeth?"
"By calling the police."

Amelia had to hold back a laugh. "Dude, knock it off," Miguel said.
"What? He does realize the Nazi's lost the war right? Why should I be scared of him? Because he has a snake on his wall? It's not like he's a teacher who can give us a bad grade. We're paying him. He works for us. It's not like he can actually hurt us."

"Oh shit," Miguel mumbled as Johnny walked over to Demetri. "Are you done? Hit me. Go on, strike me right here,"
Demetri then gave a pathetic looking punch, once Johnny aggressively blocked. "Is that all you got princess?"

Amelia looked over at Miguel who didn't seemed shocked when Johnny flipped Demetri over, him landing roughly on the mats. "Jesus," Amelia said under her breath. "Let that be a lesson to all of you"
Amelia looked over once again to Miguel.
What was she getting herself into?

Amelia once again found herself back in the Cobra kai dojo. This time with significantly less students. "Alright everyone fall in. Where is everyone? Nose ring? Slingshot?"
"They quit sensei."
"Are you serious? I mean, good. That was a test. I wanted to see who the quitters where, not you guys. You're in it to win it, right? You could ne ay home playing your Icomputers, playing your video games, eating candy. Instead, you're here, doing pushups , learning how to fight. Lip. Look. Even Lip's tougher then those guys. He's no quitter,"
"Could you please not call me that?"
"Excuse me, what?"
"Could you please not call me that?"
"I'll help warm them up sensei-"
"No, Lip has something he wants to say. Sorry, speak up Lip. Or is your tongue messed up too? Are you one of those challenged kids?"
"Um, the doctor said I could be on the spectrum"
"I don't know what that is, but get off it pronto. All right? If you don't want me to call you Lip then don't have a weird lip. Can't you get surgery for that?"
"I was born with a cleft lip. It's the scar from the surgery"
"It was worse before that? Or did the doctor just screw it up? Because if this is the after photo, that sucks man. You should sue."
"Can we please just change the topic?"
"You don't think I want to? It's right in front of me. If you wanna be something other then a nerd with a scar on his lip, you gotta flip the script. Get a face tattoo or gouge your eye out. We'll call you "Patch", all right? No don't do that one, you'll still look like a freak."

Amelia frowned as Eli walked out of the Dojo. "Great, another quitter?"

~~~
Amelia once again found herself in the same dojo. Deja Vu washing over her. Johnny walked in front of the students lined up. "Three more absences, Sensei." Miguel had said.
"A bunch of pussies," Aisha added.
"No it's my fault. Since you joined Cobra Kai, I have been hard on you. I've called you names. I've humiliated you. Some of you I've hit. And for that, I don't apologize. Cobra Kai is about strength. If you're not strong on the inside, you can't be strong on the outside. And right now, you're all weak. And I know that, because I was you. I used to have no friends. I use to be the werido kid. Not that weird. I still hooked up with babes and all but. The point is, I wasn't always the badass sensei I am today. Just like a Cobra, I had to shed my loser skin, to find my true power. And you guys will too,"
As he finished, a boy walked in, with a bright blue Mohawk. Amelia looked at Miguel. "Is that-"
"Eli, what happened?"
"I'm flipping the script,"
"Wait. You're the kid with the lip? Nice cut bro. You see that? Doesn't matter if you're a loser, or a nerd or a freak. All that matters, is that you become a badass. Hawk. Fall in. Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
"No sensei!"
"Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
"No sensei."
"Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it,"
"No sensei"
"Class, are you ready to learn the way of the fist?"
"Yes sensei!"
"So how is everything at the dealership going?", Amelia's dad asked. The LaRusso's had been invited over for dinner, once usually wouldn't of been so bad, except for the fact Sam and Amelia still weren't talking.
"Everything's going well. In fact, we just got a new employee, who has made all the difference," Amanda had said. "That's wonderful," Amy had said, a fake enthusiasm in her voice that only Amelia could detect on.
"So, Samantha, have you started thinking about colleges?"
"I'm only a sophomore,"
"Still, Amelia has already been taking all advanced classes and extra circulars,"
An awkward silence seemed to fall over the table. "So, Amelia, we haven't seen you around lots lately,"
"Yeah, uh, I've just been super swamped with school,"
"She just started karate," Amy said sipping her wine. "At the Cobra Kai dojo?" Daniel had asked. Amelia nodded. "I'd get out of there while you still can. Those guys are bad news,"
Richard let out a laugh. "Still have a vendetta against them, hey?"
Daniel just shook his head slightly. Sam was staring lasers into Amelia as she moved her food around her plate.
"Uh, Sam, how about you go help Amelia bring out desert?"
Sam nodded and Amelia got up, heading to the kitchen. "You shouldn't still be mad at me. Kyler was lying," Sam had said as soon as they entered the kitchen. Amelia scoffed as she pulled the pie out of the fridge. "Honestly Sam, I don't even give a shit about that,"
"Then what?"
"That little comment you made about me in the car. I confided in you after Halloween when things were starting to get bad and you slapped me right back in the face with it,"
"You were avoiding me and I was angry!"
"Well being angry doesn't excuse it." Amelia grabbed the pie and began to head out to the table. "Mia, I'm sorry,"
Amelia just rolled her eyes, leaving Sam alone in the kitchen.
