Chapter - 10 : Bitterness!

Ravi's pov:

I entered my house exhausted and dropped myself in the couch to relax for few minutes.

"Ravi.." I opened my eyes hearing my dad's voice..

"Dad, why are you still awake? Where is mom?" I asked him. It's past 1AM. Why he didn't sleep yet? I am worried about his health.

"Your mom is sleeping. Why are you late today?" he said.

"Dad, I had lots of work. Since Alakananda Anni had a doctor appointment today, anna left his home early. So, I had to cover his work as well. Now, you tell me why you didn't sleep till this time?" I asked him.

"I was waiting for you.. I need to talk with you" he responded.

"Ok... What happened?"

"First you refresh and come. We will talk." He said. I nodded.

"Dinner?" He asked.

"I already had dad." I said and left to my room. Unless it's important, dad never says 'I need to talk'. My brother is sleeping peacefully in my bed hugging the pillows. This house is only a 2 bedroom independent home. I use the master bedroom and my brother stay in the other bedroom. If my parents visited us, they stay in my brother's room and my brother and I share my room.

I refreshed and went to the living room. My dad came from the kitchen holding a coffee cup.

"Thanks dad." I thanked him, got the cup from him and had a sip of it.

"How is it?"

"As Always good." I said smiling.

"Now, tell me.. what you want to talk?" I asked him.

"Ravi, I need your genuine answer. What do you think about Yamini?" He asked. I looked at him what he's expecting to answer.

"I am asking generally. Tell me what do you think about her excluding the fact that she's your wife now." He asked again.

"Well dad. She's good."

"That's it?"

"What are you expecting dad?"

"Don't you have anything to say apart from that?" He asked me. I started to think about her.

"Ok.. think well and tell me about her tomorrow morning." He said. I looked at him. What he's planning?

"What do you think about this marriage?" He again asked the question.

"This is an unexpected marriage, myself and Yamini didn't expect that we would end up like this. What do you want dad? Ask me clearly." I asked him.

"Your mom is looking for a girl.." I frowned at him.

"For you..to get you married again." He finished.

"What?" I shouted.

"Dad, what happened to mom? Has she forgotten that I am already married? What she's thinking?" I started asking questioning him. He released a sigh.

"I asked the same questions to your mom.. do you know what she replied, she said, it's a force marriage and it's void. Moreover you never liked Yamini and you deserve a better girl. To my bad luck Latha and Srinivas also heard this." He said.

"What? Mama and Atha heard? What do you mean dad?" I asked him shockingly.

"Yamini's parents came to our house to talk about this marriage and the future of yours and Yamini's. Even though mistake is from our side, they came one step down to talk about this. But everything is ruined by your mom. When they talked, your mom bodyshamed Yamini and talked highly about you and said Yamini trapped you. She even told them strongly that you also never liked her and you too want to break this marriage as soon as possible and want to get married who suits you well in all aspects. Srinivas fumed and said Yamini doesn't deserve this house. So, he too agreed to break this marriage. Latha tried to console him but he didn't listen her and shouted her very badly and even raised her hand to slap. This is the first time I saw him like this. He never behaved with Latha like that." Dad said bitterly.

"When I asked you to marry Yamini, I don't know I am risking Latha's and Yamini's life.
I know Srinivas will not forgive me and Latha for this. I can bear all his anger, but what about my sister and her daughter? Because of me, their life is shattered." Dad said. Not knowing what to say I sat silently.

"Ravi, do you want to break this marriage? Do you also think Yamini is not good for you?" Dad asked.

I stayed silent.

"Ravi??"

"Dad, I need some time please.."

"So, whatever your mom said is right. You also think Yamini is not good for you." He said frustrated.

"Dad, it's not like that..." He interrupted me abruptly.

"Because of my foolishness, I forced you to marry Yamini. I am sorry for that, Ravi. I never knew you give importance to looks and not the relation. I am a big fool, at the start itself you don't want to marry Yamini because of her looks. I am the one who forced you. I am sorry for that. I need to seek apology from Yamini as well. I destroyed her life. Poor girl.."

"Dad, please.."

"Sorry Ravi... You and your mom do whatever you guys want to do" He said curtly and left to his room.

I collapsed into the couch holding my hands. Because of this, I said no to this proposal initially. Earlier he forced me into the marriage now he's blaming me.

What happened to this mom? Why she's doing this?

Yamini... My mind flashed me the time I tied the knot. I saw some familiar feelings in her eyes. What's that?

Daily she visited dad in the hospital. I ignored her every time because I am not sure what to do next. I planned for something but something else happened.

What's Yamini's fault in this? She might have had beautiful dreams about her marriage and her life partner but she ended up with me. Why? Am I worthy for her? Before that Am I ready to accept the face that I am married man now. Oh god! Please help me..

Like that throughout the night, I thought about Yamini. This is the first time after my break up, I didn't think about Arti and thinking about some other girl.
