"Well Whiskers," Ruby said as she got him up. "It looks like she wasn't the best friend you made her out to be." Whiskers just stood there, speechless. "None of the matters anymore people." Sage said. "We're not leaving the Amazon ever. We need return to the jungle so we can settle down."

"What about those construction workers?" a fellow grey fox asked, "What if they return?"

"Then we get ready for a fight to the end."

Everyone departed from the beach expect Whiskers who was still, dumbfounded and hurt by Brandy's betrayal. Lola who was there, noticed Whiskers still staring into the sunset. She approached him and placed her tail on his shoulder.

"She's gone Whiskers. There's nothing you can do about it now."

She gently turned him away from the ocean and led him towards the jungle. Ed, who was also there, placed his hands on Whiskers's shoulders trying to comfort him. "After all we've been through," Whiskers said. "In the end, she still cares about herself. How I could I be so blind?"

"Whiskers," Lola said. "Sometimes people who may appear friendly, it's nothing but all just an act."

"Yes," Ed replied. "I'm not friends with everybody in my species but I'm okay with that."

"I trusted Brandy. I believed in her. I supported her," Whiskers said. "Yet this is what she does? Well, I am not longer in debt to her for saving my life, who knows how many fricking times."

"Just let it go, Whiskers," Lola said. "It's over."

As Sage, Ruby, and the gecko, Gasper led the whole pack through rough shrubbery and rocky terrain, they could feel the tension rising through their veins. The trees were cut in half, while some were stumps. Whiskers and Lola were having flashbacks of when they protected a rare tree from Brandy, until it was gone. They and Ed knew the stakes were higher than ever.

Then Whiskers stared at the grey fox pack, particularly Sage and Ruby. He began having cold feet, concerns, and second thoughts. It was right on the tip of his brain; he just couldn't figure out what. Then his brain popped out of ear and said, "Just tell them."

"Oh, it's you. Tell them what?"

"You know. That there may be something about the grey foxes that you don't like."

"But they saved us."

"True. But maybe not for the reasons you'd think."

Whiskers grew surprised, there was no way that his brain could be implying the foxes could be using him, Lola, and Ed for something. "I hope you're wrong about that." Whiskers replied.

"And if I'm not?

"I guess I got no choice."

Whiskers and Brain both knew what he meant; Turn against the foxes, even if he knew he would be putting himself in jeopardy.

"Dang it, brain," Whiskers said. "Okay, but I don't any prove. So, until I-"

"Hey Whiskers, who are you talking to?"

Whiskers got stared and immediately shoved Brain back into his own skull. "Oh I-, I- no one. Just talking to myself. No reason."

It was Ruby, Sage's second-in-command. "Well Whiskers, I just came to let you know, that if you, Ed, or Lola ever need anything; anything at all. You come to me or Sage. You can trust me. Sage might have a bit of temper though and what he does can be questionable, but he's great leader. He just want's what's best for the pack. Okay?" Whiskers smiled and nodded. Ruby patted him on the back and moved forward to Sage.

One hour later at nightfall, Sage ordered everyone to stop. "Okay everyone! I think we'll camp here for the night. After setting everything, including tents and bonfire, everyone; the foxes, Gasper, Whiskers, Lola, and Ed were chatting among themselves.

Then Sage came in from of the campfire and demanded everyone's attention. The whole pack fell silent and stared at Sage. "Ladies and gentlemen, before all of you head to bed, I have an announcement." He snapped his fingers and Ruby came with a paper, which actually a speech. Sage cleared his throat and read,

"Now I understand, how things were crazy today. Especially with what happened this evening. But that's all going to change now. We noticed that the construction workers are going to be returning stronger than ever. Starting tomorrow morning, we gonna outsmart them into thinking that we are declining, and they have an advantage to finish us off. Even though it's the other way around, off course. If any of you have any ideas of what to do, step forward."

At first, no one did. It seems like everyone was clueless of what they should do. Then suddenly Whiskers remembered something! He stood up and came forward. "Ah yes. The little white rabbit, Mr. Whiskers." Sage answered. "I have no idea why that's your name. But no matter, go ahead."

Whiskers took a deep breath and said, "When we escaped the construction site, we arrived at the beach, where there was an unfinished wall made of sand, whether you saw it or not. I was building what I want to be the largest sandcastle in history. So, we could continue building it to defend ourselves."

Whiskers smiled nervously as the whole group fell silent. Then Ruby stepped forward and said, "I support him."

"Yeah me too," Lola replied.

"Hear, hear." Ed said.

Then all the grey foxes began to rally around Whiskers and support him. Sage smirked and said, "So that's the plan, Finish the sandcastle, hide most of us in there, and some of us will lure worker to castle and ambush them?"

Everyone agreed. "Well, I guess that settles it! Starting at daybreak, we get to work!" Everyone cheered in approval.

"Meeting is adjourned! Good night!"

Late that night, Whiskers was sleeping, when he heard a strange noise outside. He went outside to investigate. He scratched his head when all of a sudden, as he looked up a sack fell on him, and Whiskers blacked out.
