It was a new day, and being back together with Mase made me feel like it could only be a good day. We went about our usual morning routine, with breakfast being prepared for us. The chef called us, letting us know that the food was ready on the dining table outside. We made our way to the deck and settled down.
"I can't lie, I kinda like my new lifestyle," I said, giggling.
"What lifestyle?" Mase asked curiosity in his eyes.
"The lifestyle of private jets, yachts, chefs, cool cars, and big houses," I replied, smirking playfully.
"You deserve it!" he exclaimed, his eyes filled with admiration.
"I love when you're being cute," I said, smiling warmly. "Regarding today, I've planned to meet my parents at the race later. We might grab a drink before and then watch the race together."
"Sounds like a lovely plan, baby. I can't wait to meet them!" Mase said, excitement evident in his voice. We finished our breakfast and got ready to head towards the shore. Mase took charge of driving the jet ski again, while I enjoyed the ride. It seemed to make him feel empowered, as I had only driven the jet ski and car once combined since we had been together. As we reached the shore, we secured the jet ski and embarked on a leisurely 10-minute walk to the grand prix. I had arranged to meet my family inside the Ferrari area, as we had all been invited by Ferrari, and we finally found them at the lounge area bar.
"Hi Mum and Dad," I said, embracing them both. "Meet Mason."
"It's lovely to meet you," my mum greeted Mase.
"The pleasure is mine," he responded warmly.
"Hey, son, nice to meet you," my dad chimed in.
"Great meeting you too," Mase replied, returning the greeting.
"Do you want us to grab some drinks for us since we're already up?" I asked my parents.
"Sure, two glasses of white wine for us, sweetie," my mom replied.
"Perfect, be right back," I said with a smile, signaling Mase to join me as we headed to the bar to place the order. I relayed my parents' request and decided on two mojitos for us. The bartender prepared the drinks, and as they were ready, we carried everything back to the table together and took our seats.
"So, Mason, tell us something about yourself," my mum asked, curiosity evident in her voice.
"Come on, hunny, he's a professional footballer," my dad interjected playfully before Mase could respond.
"Do you know who he is?" my mum asked my dad.
"Of course I do. I think most people do," my dad exclaimed with a grin.
"Hehe, but yes, that's right. I've been playing football since I was six," Mase explained to my mum. "Palma and I went to Portugal last week for the Champions League final, and we ended up winning. It was a massive achievement for us."
"How wonderful!" my mom exclaimed, genuinely excited, even though she knew little about football. "So, how did you two meet? Palma has been very difficult to get details from."
"It's going to sound bad, but Palma attended one of my matches in London, and I accidentally shot a ball right into her face. I took care of her, brought her down for medical assistance at the stadium, and it just went on from that moment," Mase explained to my mum.
"That's a one-of-a-kind love story," my dad added, amused.
"So, you guys are staying on a yacht, is that right?" my mom asked.
"Yes, Mase is renting one while he's here for the race," I informed my mom.
"Lovely, but you guys could have just stayed at our house. That wouldn't have been a problem," she said, ensuring Mase felt welcome.
