"Next match is.." We all glanced at the board in atticapation.

Both Sakura and Ino's profiles appeared on the board. Sakura was borderline shocked, but Ino looked confident. Both girls nodded to one another then ran down the stairs. They had stepped into the arena at the same time which I thought was kinda creepy, but chose not to comment on it.

I yawned and placed my head in the crook of Shika-kuns shoulder. "Troublesome." I heard my holder mumble. I held back a laugh and watched as Ino and Sakura told the story of their friendship to everyone.
I looked at Sasuke to see his reaction, or lack there of. He caught my stare and shrugged his shoulders. 'I almost feel bad for Sakura and Ino, but Sasuke has legit done nothing to encourage their behavior and they still feel so strongly about him. Girls are weird.'
My thoughts were cut short when Kakashi appeared next to Shikamaru and I, reading that stupidly awesome book of his. I made a mental note to ask him where he went later.

I tapped on the Nara's shoulder stealing his attention from Sakura and Inos' fight. "Oh, Hey Kakashi-Sensei." Shikamaru nodded to the silver haired man who nodded and then they exchanged small talk completely ignoring me.

I blew in Shikamaru's ear and he let out a short squeak of surprise in response. While he was grumbling under his breath, me and Kakashi looked toward the board to make sure we heard right and saw that Shikamaru was paired with some ninja from the sound. I heard Shikamaru mutter something about forfeiting and said, "Oh no you're not you lazy fucker."
I pushed off Shikamaru's back and 'accidentally' pushed him over the railing. "I hope he knows I mean no harm." I thought aloud looking over the rails along with Kakashi.

I sweat-dropped when I saw the lazy genius rubbing his head and muttering something about her already knowing his Kenkii-Genkai. I just rolled my eyes when Shikanaru looked up in my direction with a glare. "Typical Shika-kun. Get off your lazy ass already and figure something out with that big brain of yours."
During the entire fight Shikamaru looked like he was struggling with his opponent, but she was edging closer and closer to the wall so maybe he wasn't. I never know with him or Naruto.

"Shikamaru has a IQ of over 200." Ino bragged. "Of course he's gonna win." Kiba made a jab at her being on the same level with Sakura which earned him two KI glares. Thankfully Hinata came to his rescue, and I don't know anyone (other than her clan) that can actually stay mad at her so the two were quick to let Kiba off the hook. I noticed the deep blush that spread across her face when Naruto smiled at her and I couldn't help but whisper an encouraging "Stay strong Hinata." Kakashi looked from me, to Hinata, to Naruto and made a noise that sounded like he had just solved a very complicated puzzle. "So Hinata has a crush on Naruto and you're playing match maker?" I rolled my eyes. "i'm no cupid, but yeah. Hanabi told me that Hinata's had the hots for Naruto ever since preschool." He laughed a little. "You would know who her sister is wouldn't you." I cocked a brow. "What's that suppose to mean?" Naruto voice popped out of no where. "Yeah, what's what supposed to mean?" I ruffled his blonde locks with a smile. "Don't worry about it Naruto." Kakashi answered for me. "Oh, okay!" The oblivious boy took off to join the rest of his friends downstairs.

Knowing that the Hokage was talking about how the last part of the exam would be held publicly and that each contestant had a month to train, I thought about how Naruto would need to ask for another sensei since Kakashi would be training Sasuke and I would be too busy working to train him. My shoulders slouched at the train of thought.
