"Okay kiddos, status report?"
"Sakura here, five feet from target."
"Sasuke, three feet."
I sighed holding a hand out for the well groomed the cat to sniff.
"Naruto Here!" I flinched. "Targets is in sight, believe it!!" Kakashi sighed through our earpieces. "Too slow Naruto."

The cat hopped into my arms. "She's pretty." Said cat purred when I scratched behind her ear. "Whose pretty?" I didn't need an earpiece to here Sakura's voice. "A cat with a red ribbon on her right ear." I heard the leaves rustle before Kakashi, Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura dropped down from the branches. Sasuke walked beside me and checked the cats ear. "Target confirmed."
"Ha! Stupid cat!" Sakura screeched and yanked out her the little radio in her ear. 'I'm glad I slipped mine back in Kakashi's pocket before I picked up the cat.' I deadpanned. Sasuke, Kakashi, and I watched as Sakura bonk Naruto on the head and nag him about how loud he was being. "Sakura." She froze hearing the agitation in my voice. "We got the cat, let's go." Kakashi cut me off taking out his earpiece. The kids followed his lead and handed their communication devices to him.

Kakashi and I watched the kids argue ahead of us as we walked. "Tora seems to really like you." Said cat was walking beside me. He'd run off every once in a while, but he would always came right back. "What can I say? Nature loves me." Tora hopped into my open arms as we bounded up the main stairs of the tower. Kakashi chuckled letting Tora sniff his hand like I did. "I don't see what not to love." I smirked. "True."

We filed in after Naruto who just had to barge into the place like he owned it.
"Oh thank you Ninja-kun!" Tora's owner snatched her cat out of my arms before proceeding to suffocate the poor thing. "My poor baby! Did you miss me darling!?" The cat scratched and clawed at her owner. The lady gasped in shock holding a particularly deep scratch on her arm as Tora ran and hid behind me. "Tora! Get back here this instant young lady!"

The kids backed away from me and Kakashi gave me a pat on the back before following their lead. The Hokage was hiding a smile and Iruka looked ready to laugh.

"M'lady." The old hag stopped her fussing and looked at me with tears in her eyes. "If you don't mind waiting in the lobby for a while, I would like to talk to you about Tora." The women glanced from Tora to me before nodding. "Iruka will walk with you and take care of the wound on your arm while he's at it." Iruka spluttered glancing towards his leader. "Go on Iruka." Said shinobi sighed dejectedly before leading the women outside.

"Team seven. Your next mission is to help Mrs. Gloria weed out her garden. Have fun." The Hokage dismissed us with a wave of his hand. Naruto continued to grumble under his breath about stupid chores as I separated from them.

"Hiroto-sama, Can you help me organized these last few missions before you go." One of my coworkers stopped me. "I'll be right with you after I talk to Mrs. Shijimi." He nodded his head before scurrying back to his work station.

"Now about your cat Tor- Where is she!?- Tora is a cat, and cats are independent creatures." I ignored her outburst knowing Tora was around. "Madamu Shijimi was it?" She absentmindedly nodded her head yes as she looked around the room for her cat. "I left a bowl of food and water for Tora in my office. Please calm down and listen." Madamu turned her full attention towards me. "As I was saying, cats are independent animals. If you were to give Tora some space I think she'd be less willing to run away." Just then her cat wondered in and laid down on the window seal across the room. "See what I mean? Nobody suffocates Tora around here." Madamu watched as her beloved cat perched her head up at the sound of her name. "Let's experiment." She gazed at me with curious eyes. "Try letting Tora sniff your hand." Madamu rolled her eyes and stuck her hand out with a scoff. "You're attitude is unapproachable." I sighed hearing Tora hiss. "It's no wonder Tora hates you." The women gasped. "Tora does not hate me!" She turned her glare towards the oblivious cat. I almost scoffed. "Listen lady, I was trying to be nice, but if Tora really likes you like you say she does then she wouldn't run away." She stomped over to Tora and went to grab her but the cat dodged out of her reach and ran behind me. "She wouldn't hiss or cause you any harm." Sadness and understanding showed in Madamu's eyes. 'Good, just one more push and Tora will be safe.' "Now, hold your hand out. With a little hesitation she held her hand out. I calmly picked up Tora and held her close. "Lets try this again shall we." I stepped in front of the Daimyō wife with a fake smile. Tora looked between me and her owner before sniffing Madamu's hands. The older lady sniffled when Tora rubbed her head against her owners hand. "See?" Madamu nodded her head. "Tora is a calm cat, which mean she hates being suffocated with lots of love and affection. If you wanted to do that you should have got a puppy." At the sound of my awkward laugh, Tora hopped out of my arms and land gracefully onto the ground.  "Show Tora you trust her by letting her roam around and If you're afraid she won't come back, try letting her roam around the house."

We both watched as Tora walked in my office for a couple minutes before coming out with a toy mouse. "Oh gomen." I felt the blood flow to my ears. "It's a bit embarrassing to admit; but if an owner isn't able to pickup their pets for a couple hours, I babysit them, so I have a lot of the toys and stuff in my office." I rubbed the back if my neck letting out an awkward chuckle. Madamu giggled. "I see." Tora walked back into my office. "Maybe you're right." I mentally cheered. "I'll try to follow your advice and give her some space." Tora walked up and sat by my feet. "Great! Wait here a second." I speed-walked to my office and stepped out with the squeaky toy in hand. "This is her favorite toy." I placed it in her open palm with a big grin. Tora walked up and pawed at her leg. "She'll follow you home if you keep hold of this." Madamu smiled brightly. "Arigato." We bid each other goodbye and I watched her walk out of the door with Tora roaming around her.
...
"Now, who asked for my help again?"

(A/N: Short chapter, but whatcha think? Do ya think Tora is just misunderstood or is she really a demon cat? Would this be a conspiracy theory or nah? What even is a conspiracy theory?🤔
