*During our month of preparation, I learned that Jiraiya was the one who taught Naruto to summon that gigantic toad that left the footprints at the hospital. I know its not just me when I say that was a pretty advanced technique for someone with little chakra control.
When I'd talked to Naruto about this he told me he had improved his chakra control by practising walking on water, like I did. He also learned how to call upon the demon fox's chakra at will which I thought was pretty damn cool. Jiraiya said he had to use the Five Elements Unseal to cancel Orochimaru's Five Elements Seal which helped Naruto out a lot.
Orochimaru is one of my least favorite people.

I told Hiru-Sama to tell me about what was happening around the village and he eagerly filled me in on the weekends during our month of training. I really think he needed a break from the stress(and the paperwork) because he went into full on gossip girl mode.

So to sum everything up some idiot named Dosu, was trying to sneak up and kill Gaara. He failed in the end by getting ripped to shreds by said sand sibling. Now I can kind of understand why he was so surprised when we first met. I bet he was afraid and I also bet that everyone he met before me were too terrified of the tailed beast within him to see him as anything but a monster.

Not long after that whole escapade went down Hayate was murdered.
Gaara also attempted to assassinate Lee in the hospital on the day before the finals, but he was stopped by Naruto, shikamaru and Gai.
Okay. I don't care if Lee wears that stupid green spandex suit twenty-four/seven, he's still my comrade just like any other Baka in Konaha. Gaara would be reserving a spot on my People-To-Kill list but I know he's just confused child with blood thirsty demon in him. I'd be willing to let certain things slide if he's willing to change his attitude.

So now that one hell of a month was over and done with I was on my way to some big arena were the exams were taking place. *

When I got there I followed the sound of Naruto's voice and found out where team seven was in less than a minute.
I smirked sneaking up behind my fellow jounin and wrapped my arms around his waist, before he could see who it was I lifted him off the ground by throwing the top half of my body backwards.(limbo style!) A shout of "Nii-chan?!" made me let him go. The only reason he didn't land on his head was because he was able to put his hands on the ground and twist his waist so he could fall back on his feet. He landed facing the group. "About time you showed up." Sakura and Naruto shouted in agreement. "Gomen." I bowed straightening up. I looked at each member of team seven with pride.
It was silent on my part but the rest of the team had continued on with their conversation.

I saw Sasuke tense angrily at something Naruto had made a joke about and thought to intervene before the Uchiha did something he'd regret. "We should probably go inside and find a spot before it gets too crowded." Kakashi snapped his book closed and stuffed it in his pouch.
"Good idea." Sasuke humphed in agreement and we walked into one the few buildings in Konoha without a roof. Naruto skipped ahead of us but turned around and walked backwards shortly after, like the skilled ninja he his. "Are you gonna stick around for my fight with Nejii-san Nii-chan!?" Sakura and Sasuke looked to me in interest. "I'm supposed to have the day off so of I hope so." I winked; smiling when Naruto cheered and sped ahead, only to come jogging back when he realized we weren't running right behind him.

The stadium was filled to the brim. most of the contestants mostly stood to the side letting the non-ninja people take the seats.
When everything had settled down the Hokage came up and announced that due to the fact that Hayate Gekkō was killed during the break, Genma Shiranui will be the proctor for the final exam.

Naruto and Neji were called up for the first match and to say their battle was dramatic would be an understatement. Everyone watched as Neji lectured Naruto telling him that failures remained failures and that would never change. I wanted to punch him so bad but held myself back because it wasn't my fight. Eventually Blondie got pissed and finally through the first punch only to be blocked again and again.
Somewhere near me I heard TenTen tell everyone around her that Naruto shouldn't fight against Nejii at a close distance, you had to go with long distance fighting. Thankfully Naruto won the battle through a combination of the demon fox's power sealed within him and his sheer belief in victory, along with a whole in the ground where Naruto gave Neji a nice uppercut to the jaw and paralyzed the genius.
I laughed silently at Neji's shocked face and such dramatic turn of events. After the battle you could tell that Naruto changed Neji's outlook on life. Anyone who looked could tell that Naruto was able to make Neji understand that destiny could be changed, and I could certainly tell that they would become friends from that point.
Letting a ghost of a smile on my face I watched silently at my bro ran around the stadium blowing kisses and waving excitedly to the crowd.

The second match, featured Sasuke versus Gaara, but sadly was moved to be the last, because Sasuke was absent. I was told normally he would have been disqualified on the spot, but his match had been highly anticipated. Something about him being the last Uchiha or whatever.
Most of the crowd even said that they only came to see him fight, forcing the Third Hokage to give in to the Kazekage's request to postpone the match. I was disappointed but let it slide for now. I will hit both Kakashi and Sasuke later.

The third match, which featured Shino versus Kankurō, was given to Shino by default. Kankurō reason for forfeiting was that he had to, and I quote 'keep his techniques a secret.' I personally, was a little disappointed because wanted to see one of Suna's prodigy puppeteers in action.

The fourth match was Temari versus Shikamaru. It was an interesting match considering both Temari and Shikamaru were excellent strategists, but Shikamaru proved he was the better one of the two in the end. He had played the sand nin well. To anyone in the stands it appeared that throughout the match that Shikamaru was using pointless attacks when he was actually five steps ahead the entire time. To everyone's (but a few) surprise he managed to skilfully manipulate Temari into a position where he could attack from behind, using the tunnel which Naruto had dug during his match with Neji to stealthily extend his Shadow Imitation Technique. The shawdow took control over Temari's body, forcing her to imitate every one of Shikamaru's movements which I knew was Shika's Kekkigenkai.
Despite all that he decided to piss everyone off and quit saying that he was too low on chakra. Now he was starting to show some signs of chakra depletion but I'm sticking with my own reason: he's an incredibly lazy genius who thinks everything is pointless, but cloud watching.
Too bad he's going to a chunin (and a Hokage assistant in training.. 😉 Shh!) anyways.

I was pulled away from my thoughts when an Aburame said my name "Shuyo correct?" I nodded my head yes. "Ah the Hokage has requested me to pass along a message." He paused. "A girl by the name of Emikai Naraka is causing trouble outside of the arena." At the look of confusion on my face, he explained. "She had asked for you personally Hiroto-sama." I finally just reigned in my sigh and sunshine'd back to my place to grab my usual ninja gear. "Just once i'd like to actually have a day off." I thought throwing my Jounin jacket on and transporting outsourced the arena doors.

"Now let's see-." an angry fashionista with two-toned hair, bright sky-blue eyes, and dark skin stepped into view.

I sighed at the little genin running at me, blocking her hits with a straight face which I could tell was pissing her off. She stopped her assult and we just stood there for a full minute until she yelled, "Fight back damn it!" and charged again.

"Okay this is getting us nowhere." I rolled my eyes watching her struggle to stand from where I tripped her. "Why did u ask for me specifically?" I was still blocking her and I was getting the impression that she only knew taijutsu. "Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu." I herd her yelp when she was jerked down into the earth. I popped back up and repeated my earlier question. only for her to start throwing a hissy fit again, shouting something along the line of "Bastard! You killed him! My best friend! He can never be a ninja now because of you!!" I continued to stand and stare at her with a blank face.
I knew why she was so enraged with me now. Her mind must be clouded with revenge."Your pathetic." I saw that she was fighting back her tears when she looked at me. "Go ahead, spend your entire life getting revenge. Just know that if you ever succeed, you're still pathetic." I looked over in the direction of Sasuke's chakra with a raised eyebrow. 'What's that baka's still doing outside the arena?' Said ninja has paused where he was and glared. I rolled my eyes since he knows that I don't approve of his mindset, but he also knows that i'll support whatever he does as long as it keeps me sane.
A scream interpreted my thoughts and I flinched at the volume in her voice. Bending down, I judo-chopped the back of her neck knocking her out so her persistent struggling came to an end.

After a few seconds dusted the imaginary dirt off of my clothed and clapped my hands together. "Shuyo wins!" I smiled at nothing in particular as I ordered a shadow-clone dig her out, strip her of her weapons, and deliver her to Ibiki for interrogating; all while I walked back to the arena.
