Some time after the forth shinobi war is over and done with, where Hiroto is in his late thirties to early forties so basically around another decade and a half or so later >>>

Shikamaru and Hiroto were walking to team ten's meeting place (a.k.a. the local barbecue joint) silently enjoying each other's company and the sights around them.
"Say Hiroto-sensei, did you lose your jacket again?" Shikamaru looked the Shuyo up and down not seeing his jounin's uniform, and knowing Hiroto might get in some trouble if something had happened to it. "No. If I knew where it was i'd be wearing it right now." said ninja nodded remembering that he had threw on a baggy green t-shit and kaki shorts to suffice. Kicking a small rock with his navy blue ninja sandal-boot-looking footwear, he shrugged. "I might look around after this is over though." Shikamaru sighed turning his attention back to the clouds.
Fero came back from his third journey elsewhere with a piece of green cloth in his mouth. The pet deposited the article of clothing in Hiroto's hand when he crouched down, then scurried down the jounin's side and settled in the pockets of his owners joggers when he stood back up. Hiroto scratched behind his pets ears in thanks.
Shikamaru wished he could say he wasn't used to seeing the ferret's head sticking out of wherever he could fit, or say he hadn't jumped when the animal had popped his head out of Hiroto's vest that one time, but he couldn't. Shikamaru wondered if Hiroto actually minded his pet's antics.
"You there Shikamaru?" Said Nara blinked at Hiroto who was studying the piece of clothing. "Yeah, you were saying?" Hiroto chuckled. "I was saying that I might know where my vest is." Hiroto placed the artifact in Shikamaru's hand. "If I don't get back in an hour, give this to Akamaru." Before the younger jounin could blink Hiroto was jogging after Fero, leaving his best friend standing alone in the middle of the busy side walk.  "Troublesome sensei." Shikamaru walked off.

"That's right. You're favorite uncle doesn't need any chakra to be a ninja." Two orphan children sat in awe as their uncle popped his collar. "So you're the person that stole my vest?" The three jumped at the deep voice. "Who the heck are you? That's his dumbo!" The little girl sneered. Fero stepped forward and the two kids screamed and ran behind the probably wannabe ninja. "Ahh! it's the beast! Get him Hero!" I cocked a brow. "Fero's not a beast." The little girl stepped further behind her brother. "Yes he is! Finish him off!" Their hero as they put it was looking between the kids and the last Shuyo. "Look man, I just want my jacket back. I have work tomorrow and thats my uniform you're wearing." The man went to take it off only to stop when he saw the looks the kids were giving him. "N-no. Who are you?" I sighed in annoyance two. "Well my friend Hinata-chan stitched my name onto the collar, the inside of the sleeve, and on the bottom of the jacket." I counted off. "She's not gonna like that tear on the inside either." With wide eyes the man removed the vest and checked what I told him. "What the- Your the guy who worked for the third Hokage? You're the one who fought by his side during the attack. Shit! You're the current Hokage's older brother too?" The man squawked incredulously. "Dude, I am so sorry." I turned my gaze else where a little embarrassed at the praise. "Yeah-uhh; thanks? for that. I think; but umm-uhh, shit. yeah; okay, nevermind. A little help here Fero?" The kids backed up a little more when Fero ran over and jumped high enough to snatch the vest out of his grasp. "The beast took your jacket Hero!? Get him with you awesomeness!!" I chuckled. "Is that you're name? Hero?" I asked pulling an arm through the other sleeve. The hair on Fero's head tickled my chin as he settled inside my vest. "No-uh, it's actually Daiko." Daiko looked at the kids. "These are my sisters kids." He pointed to the mixed girl with her hair in cornrows. She smiles and batted her eyes innocently. "My niece Nami," Her twin brother with a missing tooth was pushed forward. He was frowning at his sister. "and my nephew Mylo." I smiled despite the kids earlier remarks. "Well thank you for finding and returning my jacket Daiko-kun." Daiko met my bow with his own apology for taking the thing in the first place and then I was off. "Hiroto-sama?" Or not. I halted my steps with a sigh. "This is probably gonna sound really stupid, b-but umm.." He turned to his niece and nephew who waved him forward with two very bright smiles. "I'm a big fan amd I-I was uh wondering if you-um.." A blush quickly spread across his face. "Wanted to hang out or something?" I finished. "No, Wa-wait I mean yes." He took a deep breath. "Okay wow. Gomen'nasai. A thirty-six year old babbling like an idiot, real attractive." I couldn't help but laugh. "You're fine," I ran a hand over my trimmed beard in thought. "I get off work tomorrow at six, so I'll probably be leaving an hour or so later." I shrugged my shoulders. "How about you stop by the Hokage tower around seven or eight and we'll see where the night takes us." A bright grin spread across his face. "I'll be there!" He coughed twice. "I mean sure. uhh, see you then?" I nodded and we went our separate ways.

Kiba waved his hands signaling the infamous Shuyo his way. "Good timing man. We was just about to go look for ya." Kiba chuckled as Hiroto slid into the booth across from him. "Lucky you." Shikamaru nudged Hiroto's side. "So I see you found it." A smirk found itself way onto the males face. "Yeah, but i'd never would have thought I'd get a possible date out of it either." Ino smile brightened at the news and she went into gossip girl mode.
So after (not) answering a lot of Ino's questions, me and Choji had an eating competition with him as the winner, then we all took a stroll around the village. "We should do this again sometime." Ino happily agreed along with Choji and Shikamaru. We talked some more until Ino randomly gasped. Apparently she forgot she had to go buy more seeds for her flower shop. Choji mentioned he still had to go grocery shopping, so Shikamaru and I just decided to go home.
