A/N: lil something to remember is that Hiroto became a Konoha civilian at around 17 or 18 so he should be in his late 29 or 30 now because he's been a member of the village for just about a decade now. also Remember that he doesn't keep track of his age anymore so anything after 15 is a guestimate. & an author is one with there characters so don't question me 😊✌🏻 okay thanks! later alligators 💕

I woke up the next day still around something warm. I heard a laugh close to me when I had nudged myself closer to the warmth.
My eyes instantly popped open and my breathing hitched.
'Oh yea, I fell asleep on the couch with Kakashi again.' I heard a small chuckle and followed the arm resting over my shoulder to a relaxed Kakashi reading his favorite series behind me. I mumbled an embarrassed shut up, rolled off the couch and stood up. I glanced at the chair and saw that Shikamaru had left. 'Whatever's in my belly needs to settle the fuck down.' "Gomen Kakashi." He turned a page of his book with a hum. "It's no big deal Hiroto. I did stay the night after all." I just let out a nervous laugh and walked over to the kitchen. I made some buttered toast for me before stepping back into the living room.
I leaned against the living room wall and watched as Kakashi read his book. Without his mask. I chewed my toast for a minute thinking(and not really wanting to comment on the whole mask deal again).
Now Kakashi wasn't drop dead gorgeous or anything like most people thought he was. His face really wasn't anything special to begin with. He had a normal chin with a structured jawline like most of the men in Konoha. The only significant part on his face were his eyes, but even his eyes weren't that special. Just two lazy onyx eyes. Although there was a Sharingan in the one with the vertical scar.
I don't even know why he wears the mask in the first place. I remember when he'd showed me his face awhile back and I had simply blinked and asked him why he wore it. His response was that he'd always worn a mask, even as a child, but I still don't get it. I probably never will.
I shook my head to clear my thoughts and asked Bakashi where Shikamaru went. "He left earlier. Said something about troublesome women worrying to much." Kakashi tilted his head in thought. "I think he was talking about his mother, but I wasn't really paying attention." Hiroto nodded curiosity satisfied for the moment. "Alright I have a spare room where all of Naruto stuff needs to be moved, so can you move it all into the hallway while I go wake up the boys." Kakashi sweat-dropped at the small pile of dirty clothes and nicknacks, but did what he was told none the less. Hiroto pointed Kakashi to the laundry room and then to the a room across from it.
When Sasuke and Naruto were finally got out of bed, they ate breakfast and went to go get Sakura got some team bonding, per Hiroto's request. Said Shuyo waved them all out the door then got to work on setting Naruto's new room up.

A couple days later...
"Okay so since I work from eight to six for a while and I could use the extra time to some hardcore training in. It be better if I did some light training during the week and hardcore stuff some during the weekend." I thought aloud making a mental note to contact some of the other Sensei(s) as I walked around the village. 'I can start with early morning laps around the village with Gai and Lee if he's not still in the hospital then I can work on my Taijutsu with either them, somebody else, or a shadow clone if no one's available. Genjutsu with Kurenai or Kakashi, Maybe play that board game with Shikamaru sometime soon, and then I can work on Ninjutsu, maybe train TenTen a little while i'm at it.' I smiled eyeing Gai as he walked pass me. "Hey Gai wait up, I need to ask you something!"

The day before the 1st Chunin Exam...
I smiled back at the possibly forth or fifth retired ninja who'd greeted me in passing while I was walking around the village. I needed to do some last minute shopping before the exams because most of my clothes were destroyed in some way from training and I was running low on food(i'm looking at you again Naruto 👀), so I thought 'why not shop while I have the time.'
The Leaf Village was really busy because of the exams, but I chose not to pay it too much attention just like the villagers didn't pay much attention to me.
'Okay, bad thoughts go bye bye now. I should make some more jerky for that ferret. He's not the fighting type but I can still train him to do certain things. Like a messenger bird without the feathers. Whatever, I should probably introduce him to Akumaru sometime so I can see how he is around different species.' I smiled absentmindedly petting my new furry friend and loosing myself in my thoughts again while dodging a group of kids that we're running by.

I took a pit stop at the infamous ramen stand where Naruto was stuffing his face next to Pedo-Sage. I quirked a brow when I sat down and they didn't look towards me or anything. 'Damn, I would at least glance to see who sat next to me instead of ignoring them completely.' I shook my head ridding those type of thoughts away again before ordering. "One specialty shrimp ramen please." Naruto jumped in shock and my first thought was to yell out 'surprise motherfucker!' but I didn't. "Nii-chan!? When did you get here?!" He grinned, a left over noodle hanging from his mouth. I chuckled and poked his cheek "I just got here lil bro." We exchanged smiles. "Hey Pedo-Baka." I waved at him and Naruto burst out laughing. "See! I told you Pervy-Sage!?" We high-five'd while said sage grumbled something about disrespectful brats.

Not too long after I had my food, him and Naruto were in a yelling match. I simply watched from the sidelines and enjoyed my food.
When I finish I plopped my bowl down with a content smile on my face. "How was it?" Asked the chef. "Perfect." I got my wallet out prepared to pay. "Don't worry about the check son. The young man northeast of you said he'd get it" I nodded smiling in return for the wink sent by said person. I sweat-dropped side-glancing at my blonde brother's collection of ramen bowls. 'Is this what you spend you're allowance on Naruto?' I took out enough to pay for me and 5 of Naruto's empty bowls (even though I know the little fox gets free ramen most of the time anyways) and stayed long enough to watch the man eyes grow a good bit when he saw him a large sum of cash inside my now empty bowl.
The poor dude actually tried to call me back and hand me my money back, but I waved him off. "Shokuji arigatō." I said my quick goodbyes to Naruto and Pedo-sage then headed to the shops to get more weapons.

"Hiroto-sama?" I turned towards the voice, grocery bags in hand and I saw Kiba, Hinata, and Shino. We met up half way and I smiled saying my hellos while placing the ferret at my feet. I laughed when the critter and Akamaru automatically went to sniffing each others butts. "When did you get him?" Kiba asked looking between my new companion and Akamaru. "Not long ago. He's a stray that decided to stick around me for whatever reason." I answered. "He's so kawaii!" Hinata commented bending down to pet said animal.
I looked Shino who glanced back through his shades. "Are you still in the exams?" I tried sparking a conversation with the silent shinobi. He nodded slightly. "Hai" After a little small talk with the team that mainly consisting of me and Kiba arranging a playdate for our furry friends. (One that was never going to happen and I think we both knew it) I bid the trio farewell.

I went in and locked the door this time and started unpacking my weapons. I mainly got more kunai and shurikun, along with some wire and paper bombs, and some extra bandages as well to go with a couple first aid kits to put away. I also had groceries to put way along with some of the same style of clothes I always wear to hang up.

After putting all my stuff away I striped down to my boxers and a black tank top just before my exhaustion of the day caught up with me. I was quick to fall asleep.
