"Murtagh, they have appeared," Thorn's voice entered Murtagh's mind as he lounged in a dark room, feeling disgusted at being made to stay in this place. "They must have conquered Aroughs as soon as they arrived."

"Unlikely," Murtagh got up and hurried to the walls. "Though I wouldn't put it past them. I suppose the Varden believe they'll have an easier time conquering this place now that Saphira and Fang are with them."

He stood on the wall and looked out at the Varden camp. There, sprawled in a clearing and looking incredibly relaxed, was Fang. There was a lot of commotion on the other side as people swarmed around the camp.

"They have two dragons... how are we supposed to survive this."

Murtagh could hear the frightened whispers all around him. Naturally, they were afraid. Not only were there two dragons and riders versus himself and Thorn... but also one of those riders had snuck into the area, slaughtered the Ra'zac and Lethrblaka, and escaped before anyone could stop or catch them.

And the other one was a living legend.

Fallyn Stormrider.

"I really knew nothing about her," Murtagh realised, grimacing. "We need to get the morale up."

"Then we must show no fear or trepidation," Thorn said, rising to his feet and bellowing out a mighty roar.

Fang lifted her head, looking in their direction, before turning her attention towards the ground where Murtagh suspected Fallyn was. Saphira's snarl echoed back to them.

"It is extremely frustrating when she acts as if I am not a threat," Thorn grumbled as Fang leapt into the sky, angling towards a different part of the camp.

He spread his wings, crouching as his tail lashed angrily, and a puff of smoke billowed from Fang as her large head turned to see this.

At last, she seemed to respond - a rumbling roar, like thunder, boomed across the no-mans-land towards them. Thorn lowered his wings, startled at the strong reaction.

"You do look a little foolish trying to chase her," Murtagh teased.

"I forgot myself... chasing her all over the place for the last few weeks has me thinking I must continue to do so..." Thorn said sheepishly.

"We'll have our chance," Murtagh said wryly. "Gods only know the king will have us chasing her before long, now that we know exactly where she is."
