Chapter 38-Present
Louis’ point of view
Her voice comes from the far off distance, an echo resounding across the miles until it gets closer and closer, grabbing me out of sleep and pulling me into consciousness.
“Louis wake the fuck up!!” she yells, frantically shaking my arm.
My eyes peel open, my pupils adjusting to the sudden burst of light peeping from the curtains.
“Erin? What?” I say, rubbing the sleep off my eyes, sitting up from the bed I was sleeping on.
“Did Harry tell you where he was going?!” she asks me.
Erin’s hair was a complete mess, as if she had been running her fingers through them over and over again. Her eyes were wide and in panic.
“Why? Did he go somewhere?” I ask her, suddenly completely aware.
“I don’t know-I mean I think so! I was stuck in traffic then I got lost a bit and when I came back I saw this taped to the door,” she explains, handing me a crumpled piece of paper ripped out from some notebook. And on that paper, Harry had written in his clumsy writing:
I remember everything, gone out.
-Harry
“Wha...what does he mean ‘remember’?!” I say, looking at the paper as if it had all the answers.
“It means he RE-MEM-BERS! He remembers Louis and EVERYTHING and I don’t know where he is! We have to go look for him, it’s already sunset,” she replies.
“Have you tried calling him?”
“He left his phone.”
“I’m going to kick his arse when we find him,” I mutter, standing up and grabbing my jacket from the hook as I went out with Erin who pocketed Harry’s phone.
We enter the main Styles household and go over to Anne, Joe, and Gemma who were preparing dinner. Anne immediately senses something was wrong and goes over to hug Erin who showed her the note from Harry, telling her much of what she can: that she went out for a bit and came back seeing this.
“We should call somebody,” Gemma says, already grabbing the phone.
“You can’t!” I protest. “No one can know he’s missing, it will need too much of an explanation.”
“But-”
“Louis is right,” Anne cuts Gemma off. “It will cause too much of a drama, it will need too much explanations that we can not provide for.”
“Let’s just go out and look for the usual places he went to before, yeah?” Joe suggests, the only able to keep himself in composure at this moment.
“I’ll stay back here in case he comes home. I’ll ring you if he does,” Anne says.
We all nod and agree then start to make our way out to look for him.
Erin and I wait outside in the streets as Joe and Gemma went inside the bakery Harry used to work in to ask if he had stopped by. We decided that it was best I don’t talk to anyone to avoid anyone noticing me. I had to keep a snapback and my hoodie over it the whole time.
“Anything?” Erin asks, ever so hopefully as Joe and Gemma step out from the bakery.
Gemma shakes her head at us for the eighth time that night and yet again I see Erin’s face fall, overflowing with worry.
“Come on, I know a park we went to as kids,” Gemma says and starts leading the way but Erin lags back.
“Babe, you okay?” I ask her, putting an arm around her shaking shoulders.
