"I'm sorry," she apologized, walking beside me as we made our way back to our cabana under the night sky. I remained silent, giving her the benefit of the doubt about her behavior. And, of course, I understand her sa part na magtataka siya kung bakit ako binigyan ng lalaki kanina ng inumin. What I don't understand is the part where she assumed that I flirted with the man for the drink.
"Love, Scarlett," she called my name affectionately, taking my hand as we entered our room. I clenched my jaw, turning to face her with my gaze fixed on her, shoulders slumped. The weight of the misunderstanding suddenly hit me.
"Patawad," she apologized again. "Alam kong nasaktan kita kasi nagconclude ako agad. It's a wrong move. My actions are wrong. I'm sorry if you felt that I don't want to hear your side," she sighed, genuinely apologetic.
I shrug my shoulder, sighing. "Why? Tell me the reason kung bakit gano'n na lang ang nangyari kanina. I want to understand."
She squeezed my hand gently. "Tama ka, I get jealous easily. I acted out of jealousy and insecurity, at napakaunfair na nagconclude agad ako ng hindi ko napapakinggan ang side mo. I should have trusted you and communicated better."
Her tone, her eyes, her facial expressions all showed genuine remorse. Now that I heard her side, I understood her better, although I still felt a bit annoyed.
"I won't deny that I was hurt and frustrated by the misunderstanding," I finally spoke up, my voice tinged with a mix of emotions. "It made me question our trust and left me feeling misunderstood. But I appreciate your apology and your willingness to acknowledge your actions."
Her grip on my hand tightened, her eyes filled with remorse. "I'm truly sorry, Love. I never want my insecurities to come between us."
"I know," I said, giving her a soft smile. I sighed and opened my arms, inviting her into a hug. "Ang hirap magalit sa 'yo." She embraced me, and I noticed a sniffle. "Are you crying?"
She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "Naiiyak ako kasi ayokong magkaaway tayo."
"It's not a fight, a misunderstanding it is," I reassured her.
"Kahit na," she replied, letting go of the hug, tears glistening on her cheeks.
I took her hand and guided her to sit on the bed. "Why are you crying?" I asked, concern evident in my voice.
"Because I hurt you!" she pouted. "Takot akong masaktan kita, and nasakan nga kita. I'm sorry."
I cupped her face in my hands. "Hey," I softly said. "Sinabi ko dati na masasaktan at masasaktan natin ang isa't-isa kahit gustuhin natin o hindi, sinasadaya man o hindi. Hurting is part of a relationship. What matters is that you apologized and acknowledged your mistakes. You're willing to be better, and that means a lot to me." I wiped away a single tear that escaped her eyes.
"Puwede bang magalit ka kapag nasaktan kita? Saktan mo rin ako pabalik," she exclaimed.
"I can't do that. I'm not like that," I shook my head.
"I love how understanding you are, but you can't just understand me always."
I looked at her with a ridiculous look. "I've told you, always, in every way possible, I will understand you," I sincerely assured her.
"Kahit nasasaktan na kita?"
"You're not willingly hurt me, are you?"
"Syempre, hindi," she firmly answered with a creased on her forehead.
I nodded, giving her a soft smile. "Now, that we are okay, maligo ka na para makaligo na din ako at ng makatulog na tayo."
"Hindi ka nakakain ng maayos kanina," she said, hindi pinansin ang sinabi ko.
