FALLING FOR MY RIVAL

Chapter 4:

" Freen... calm down. This isn't the first time you are being summoned there."

I said to myself as I was advancing towards our principal's office. I was very nervous from the core and it was making my whole body tremble with anxiety. After a while, I reached outside her room and my legs were still not supporting me to get inside.

"Okay..fine...relax and take a deep breath. "

I muttered with a sigh before gathering every ounce of courage I possibly had at that time and knocked on the door to seek permission from the person inside.

" Come in..."

When I heard her confirming voice from the other side of the door, I gently pushed the door open to get inside. I entered the room to find her sitting on her usual office chair and a desk where she was currently working on her computer. I was looking at her room perfectly organized with the books in respective shelf and her desk neatly arranged as always with some files and a plaque tag inscribed with the letters reading 'Ms. SA' kept on it.

" Yes... What happened ? " She asked still looking at her computer.

" Huh..You called me here remember... " I replied politely.

" Do you know the reason you are being called here ? "

" No." I simply answered.

" As expected...." She replied and paused for a while for looking at me before continuing.

" Obviously you won't know because there are millions of reasons for your presence in my office, so you can't decide the one for ."

"Yes...as I was saying earlier. Will you please elaborate about the little accident happened with Khun Lek this morning? " She asked curiously.

It happened this morning only and by the evening it already went into the ears of our principal. That rude old man, must say he is very fast in creating troubles and this time for me.

" Yes...I am waiting " she added

" Khun SA.. I intentionally didn't throw it. He was not the target and besides it was harmless." I politely answered while shrugging off.

" Excuse me ! he was not the target, really... and who were you targeting in the early morning at the middle of the road? "

I hesitated before answering. " Actually... it was Becky."

" Like seriously you left the campus that early for targeting a student from your neighbouring school at the middle of the road . God.. Freen grow up..." She said disappointedly.

" It was not me...I didn't start it. I was just walking around the backside garden when Becky threw a water balloon at me. I was just retaliating but she dodged it and he became the target instead. I don't know from where he suddenly appeared. I didn't meant to..." I replied in my defense.

Yes, Becky tricked me. I wasn't attentive the first time and got completely drenched. But when she threw it the next time, I caught it but before I could strike back she fled from there so I chased her down at the middle of the road. But as I was about to throw, Becky got alerted and dodged and it went straight ahead and finally hit Khun Lek. Becky knew he was coming there, she calculatively positioned herself to create new difficulties for me.

Obviously I can't share all the details with Khun SA because then she will enquire more and I have to come up with our not so friendly history and that might bring me more troubles. So, it's better if I somehow manage and quickly get out of this situation.

" Really Freen... Just because she was throwing , you have to do so. And you only said it was harmless...Right, so can't you avoid "

" But why always you are taking her side instead of your own student and ... " I was asking while she cut me off.

" Look Freen..she is not my responsibility but you are...I am your guardian here. Your mother and my late sister , has handed you over to me. So, it's my duty to make sure you are safe and in your best behaviour. You know I am the founder of this school and have a reputation to hold but I don't care about it until you are becoming something your mother had wished for. But being my niece doesn't give you a privilege to do everything you want."

My face turned pale and tears started gathering over my eyes as I was holding enough to not let it flow. I just wanted to say, but before I could speak anything she continued.

" Okay... now don't be upset about me scolding you. You deserved it....you know I'm just protecting you. Please don't get yourself in trouble and act like a good girl you always are." she said consoling me.

"Anyways I had already sorted everything with Khun Lek , you must go and apologize tomorrow. Okay, now you can leave." She added.

I went towards my aunt hugging her before going back to my dorm. She even warned me that I shouldn't be this clingy with her outside as that might hamper her strict reputation. I just left out a soft chuckle recalling at her last words and headed towards my room with a sigh of relief.
