FALLING FOR MY RIVAL

Chapter 12:

"Ahhhh...Becky! Will you please lighten your hold around me, I can't walk like this...." I remarked.

"No..." She replied softly.

The more we walk in this darkness trying to find our way, the more we run into weird and spooky stuffs and the more tightening the hug becomes making my knees turn weak and tremble with fear or with something unknown I have never felt before with someone else but just now and that too with her.

We were walking only when our way got blocked with some figure. It was all dark around hence making it hard for us to recognize. But as soon as that figure approached us and flashed a light at its face, we both screamed at the highest possible note that could escape out of our vocal cords at that time, when we witnessed the horror filled image of that person.

As soon as we screamed, that person also started screaming on top of the lungs, making Becky jump and land herself on my lap with her arms and legs wrapping around my nape and waist respectively.

"Oiiii...Freen why are you shouting like this!!! You are scaring me?" That strange looking person responded while comforting her chest.

It took me just a few second to identify the voice of that person as my own friend Jim whom we assumed as a ghost cause of her sudden scary look with her hair and makeup all messed up.

"What the hell Jim? What's wrong with you? You are trying to scare us with your spooky ugly look, huh? And what the fuck are you trying to do here? From where did you even appear suddenly?" I bombarded her with the questions out of anxiety while catching up my breath.

"Uff...Freen stop yelling at me. I am as much scared as you are. I was just, no... we all were looking for you two only." Jim replied while panting.

"Huh...really you were looking for me after you all deserted me in the middle of this haunted villa" I questioned.

"Yes we are...but looking at you now, I don't feel like you needed a company at all."

Jim scoffed while pointing her fingers towards me and Becky who is resting herself on my lap and her face buried deep into the crook of my neck still hiding and resisting to look at her surroundings.

When I got conscious with Becky still wrapping her body around me, those unknown sensation again started kicking inside my body. Even my cheeks slightly started heating up after hearing Jim's last words.

I tried to lift Becky's chin up with my right hand to comfort her a little in this situation. Initially she resisted looking but after hearing our voices she finally raised her head up.

As soon as she realized about her awkward position on me, immediately she jumped out off my lap  landing herself safely on the ground, and then continued to fix herself up. I was just thinking to enquire about her well being but suddenly got interrupted with Jim's teasing vocals.

"Ermmm..hmm..I didn't knew that my friend is such a protector, never seen her this way around us."

"Jim..." I hoarsely spoke while glaring at her.

"Anyways I believe there are no ghosts around anymore, so we can proceed forward freely. We have already discovered the escape route, so you two just follow me, okay." Jim commanded.

We silently followed her outside with none us exchanging any words in between our escape. After a few minutes, finally we reached outside the mansion where we reunited with our other friends again.

"Becky...Where were you all this time? We were so worried about you?" Yuki asked while coming towards Becky for a hug.

"I..I just got lost somehow and was unable to find any direction." Becky sighed.

"Yup...it's true for all of us, we were just struggling for finding  a way." Cher replied.

"Aiii...Jim but where did you find them." Tee asked.

"I told you guys that I heard Freen's voice back then while going outside, so I returned back to check and see I was right." Jim proudly stated.

"Yeah...Jim... we all know you are great. But by the way Freen, tell me, how are you? Are you alright?" Kade worriedly enquired.

"Oh...finally you guys got the time to ask me about my state. When you guys left me there all alone by myself, I thought my friends just forgot that I too came here with them." I mocked.

"Ohh...Freen how can you think we can forget about you. You are our best friend, our leader, our precious star, our everything. See that's why we send Jim to fetch you out." Kade replied while trying to console me.

"Really...  guys, then why didn't you go instead, huh..Kade?" Jim scoffed.

"Eii... Jim!!"

Kade was about to get back at Jim when I interrupted.

"Okay...enough you guys can continue with your drama later. Now let's get back home."

"What?? Freen it's just past noon, we have lot of time in our hand before the sky gets dark and we haven't taken any ride of the amusement park yet." My friends protested.

"Oh...no guys, we already have wasted a lot of our time and energy here while finding our way out of this stupid haunted mansion. So, it's better if we leave now and take rest." I explained.

"Haa...haa...haaa, so the infamous Freen Sarocha Chankimha's battery life is already over and wants to quit. I thought we were going to have more battles here to see who scores higher at the end of the day. Poor you, anyways thank you for already giving up and declaring me the winner without any more hustle." Becky chuckled while proudly announcing.

"Excuse me...when did I signed up for further duels with you." I questioned.

"When you signed up for haunted mansion...I believe." She replied.

"No...then your belief is completely wrong. I never agreed for any other contest apart from your stupid game earlier, which was also staged by you and where you also fell in with us." I hit back while mocking at her.

"Okay...whatever, I had admitted I was wrong earlier and I planned it but this time I won't and we all will collectively decide about our next contest. So are you agreeing or quitting already out of fear." Becky scoffed at her words.

I was trying hard not to fall in this trap again but I was helpless when my friends tagged along and left me with no choice other than accepting her stupid offer.

"So...then what will be our next contest." Risa asked.

"We can have eating competition guys." Jim suggested.

"Yes...only you can eat, others will die just by watching you" Kade replied.

"Oii Kade...shut your filthy mouth" Jim glared at her.

"Okay...guys just decide already, don't waste our remaining time in this nonsense." I replied while losing my patience.

"What about we try the rides..." Yuki suggested.

"Yes...that could be great idea." Becky and others nodded.

"But which ride?" I questioned.

"Oh.. Freen let's just go from here then we can just pick one while we reach at the rides zone." Becky answered.

I sighed and weakly nodded while we all marched towards our next battle or should I say for my new torture. Only I know how much I am petrified of rides but now I have no option other than to follow them quietly.
