FALLING FOR MY RIVAL

Chapter 7:

"Kids...what's going on here?" She asked while looking at us intently.

" Nothing..." Becky replied.

"Oh...basket girl..Ah...what was your name..B..Ba..Becky, right..." She asked looking at Becky who then nodded her head in yes.

" Yeah..Becky why are you here? You were going to the floral room right..." She gently asked.

"Yes...I was on my way only when I ran into her and the basket dropped...an..and some of the flowers got soiled." Becky nervously replied pointing me.

" I didn't intentionally d...." I stopped when that lady shifted her eyes towards me.

" Hmm...you..are looking for someone..."

I quickly replied " I'm Freen and I am looking for the owner here."

"Yes I am the owner. Tell me..do we know each other before?"

"Khu..Khun..."

" Mary " she replied back when she realized I was stuttering at her name.

" Oh! okay.. Khun Mary you are the owner but I knew it was Khun Lek..." I was replying when she cut me off.

"Haa! Haa! It's actually.. we both are as he is my husband. So, tell me what's the matter?" She asked smiling at me.

"Yes..I was looking for Khun Lek only.."

I was going to add something more when my body vibrates due to an intimidating voice. I turned back to find Khun Lek approaching us.

"Who's looking for me ?" Khun Lek asked in his thick menacing voice.

"Ah..ah..It's me..." I stuttered.

"You...What brings you here?" He asked intimidatingly.

"Aaa..I just came here to apologize to you...."

He asked cutting my words " Apologizing for what?"

"Ahm..for yesterday's incident...I didn't mean to throw at you...it..it just somehow changed its trajectory and hit you instead. I am very sorry about it...."

I was apologizing when he shifted his gaze towards Becky who was still present there the entire time. He then asked looking at Becky.

"And you...what are you doing here?"

"Yes...Khun Lek...I heard you were upset about my actions...so I came here to apologize but don't mind me asking..." Becky paused for a while.

"Would you please help me recall about which action of mine that possibly upset you..so I can duly repent and beg your pardon." She politely added.

"Haa..ha...you kids..you think it's so easy to apologize after you're always creating nuisances every other day." He chuckled alarmingly.

I was so frightened at his laugh that it sent me shivers all over my body. I looked at Becky whose condition was similar to mine. But I have come here to apologize and can't quit easily so I decided to utter something which would truly grant my apology.

"Khun Lek.. I am very sorry about my actions and I sincerely repent for my mistakes. Please accept my apology..." I said with an innocent face.

"Yes Khun Lek, I also beg your pardon for any of my inappropriate behavior that caused you trouble..." Becky replied making a puppy face.

He didn't respond to neither of us and maintained his silence, so I reacted again.

"Please..Khun Lek..please forgive me" this time Becky and me begged in unison.

He was still not answering to anyone, so Khun Mary spoke on behalf of us.

"Oh..ho.. Darling, come on...now just forgive them. See..how they are sincerely asking"

"Ehrm...you two think these tricks will work on me...If you are sincerely begging my pardon then words aren't enough, you have to try something else I ask for and you can't complain about it later." He stated smirking.

"Yeah..I am ready to do anything you ask." Becky replied

"Me too..." I joined.

We both were looking curiously at him to know about his demands, when our jaws dropped and eyes widened in shock at his words.

"As you two are not willing to leave without me granting your apology. So..I will only believe in your sincerity when you both come once in a while to assist this old couple in managing our works here."

"Darling.... They are busy high schoolers who have lot of works to do already and then this demand of yours, it will be too harsh for them." Khun Mary defended us.

"Huh...I have just asked them to join us in helping whenever we needed, not every now and then."

"And besides if you two are unwilling to accept my offer then forget about me forgiving you."

He coldly replied and left us alone in disbelief. I can't deny, otherwise it will be Khun SA, I would be compensating for my failure. So, I decided to accept this punishment with bowed head.

"Girls...don't get disheartened by his words. We are very old to manage everything by ourselves and needed some extra helpers. But he's reluctant to trust anyone so easily and now see... he excused and asked you two for assistance instead. So, don't consider it as a punishment okay...now come on, come with me" Khun Mary cheerfully said assuring us.

We both nodded and followed her silently. As we were walking, I was completely mesmerized with the view while she took us through the way between, with several varieties of beautiful and colourful flowers planted around. I felt like I was in a floral wonderland until my thoughts broke when we stopped in front of a concrete compartment room.

"This is the floral room where you girls will be working. Come inside."

We followed inside and I was kind of surprised with the room's interior which looked completely organized and quite spacious as it was from outside. There were some desks with flowers around, a furniture at the corner, a sofa in the middle with a small tv hanging on the opposite wall, and a computer and other items which might be possibly needed for making bouquet and flower baskets.

"Girls...this is the area where we prepare flower bouquet and baskets and there at that right side opposite to the floral arrangement desk is the order counter where we take orders and this is Rene..."

She said pointing to the girl probably in her twenties who was busy making bouquet on one of the desk in the left side.

"Rene is our helper...she works here alone, so you will be assisting her whenever you come here. And don't worry, she will guide you throughout and if you need extra help then, we old couple stay at the backside cottage few steps behind this room so feel free to approach us."

She then called that girl named Rene and introduced us before leaving three of us alone to work in the floral room. Actually P'Rene was very sweet and guided us everytime we needed her help. Though I was hesitating earlier but now after looking everything around I feel it quite endearing here.
