At the Dupain-Cheng's Bakery, Marinette is cooped up in her room, concentrating on sewing a plaid prom dress for Alya, based off one of the designs in her journal. She had promised to construct a fancy dress for her best friend to wear on the day of the dance, so she's staying true to her word. Tikki flutters around, viewing the gown to compliment its immaculate detail.

Tikki: "That's a very pretty dress, Marinette."

Marinette: "Thanks Tikki. Do you think Alya will like it?"

Tikki: "Anything you give to your friend is special as long as it comes from the heart."

At that point, Mari gets a knock on her attic door. It's her father, Tom Dupain.

Tom: "Marinette, honey, come down to the living room. We have big news."

Marinette: "Coming dad!"

Mari's pauses her needlework and goes downstairs to meet her parents in their living room, where Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng sit down on the couch, excitedly.

Marinette: "Hi Mom, hi Dad. What's the big news?"

Tom: "We spoke to your principal yesterday, and he told us about a special international exchange program happening in New York City."

Sabine: "And after a short discussion, we've decided that we're going to be hosting a foreign exchange student who will be studying abroad in Paris for the next three months!"

Marinette: "Really? A foreign exchange student? Wh-what's his name?"

Sabine: "His name is Peter Parker. He's a year older than you, but we're sure you two will get along nicely."

Marinette: "Wow, this is so exciting. When will he be here?"

Tom: "First thing tomorrow morning. He's probably on the plane as we speak."

Sabine "Since he'll be staying in your room, why don't you go tidy up so you can welcome him?"

Tom: "Good idea, honey. Always gotta' leave a good first impression."

Marinette: "Sure, I'll clean up right now."

Mari goes back upstairs to her bedroom in the attic, and once in the clear, her Kwami reappears from Marinette's bag.

Marinette: "Did you hear that Tikki? A foreign exchange student!"

Tikki: "What's an exchange student, Marinette?"

Marinette: "It means someone from across the globe will be living with us while they're studying in the country. I can't wait to meet Peter. It'll be like having a college roommate, (Gasp) Even better, it'll be like having a brother!"

Tikki: "But won't that be dangerous?"

Marinette: "What do you mean?"

Tikki: "Don't you think it would be difficult to keep Ladybug a secret if you're sharing your room with a complete stranger?"

Marinette: "Relax Tikki, I've had dozens of sleepovers with my friends, and not one of them has ever suspected I was Ladybug. This'll be a piece of cake."

Tikki: (Sigh) "I guess you're right, but try to be careful tomorrow."
