Flight Through the Night

Nightfall drops as the plane continuingly soars through the darkest of skies. Peter and Mary Jane take the time to talk to Gwen via webcam. 

Peter: "You're joining a band? No way."

Gwen: "That's right, you're speaking to the official drummer of the Mary Janes."

MJ: "A band named after a close friend, I see." 

Gwen: "Name was my idea. So, how's the flight?"

MJ: "Going smooth so far."

Peter: "We hit a little bit of turbulence, but I'm still standing... or sitting."

Gwen: (Giggles) "That's great. Still, I really wish I tagged along with you guys. I hear the City of Love is dazzling this season."

Peter: "Hey, there's always next year."

MJ: "Or maybe when Harry feels better, you could still attend."

Gwen: "(Sigh) I doubt it, but could you do me a favor, Pete?" 

Peter: "Sure, anything. You name it."

Gwen: "I read online that there's this amazing bakery that makes the best baked goods in Paris, so I was wondering, maybe you could stop by and
grab me a pastry to try."

Peter: "Sure, I could do that. What would you like, a croissant, macaron, Pain au Chocolat?"

Gwen: "You know what, surprise me."

One of the flight attendants walk by Peter and MJ to apprise them that their video chat is disturbing everyone's rest.

Flight Attendant: "Excuse me, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I'm going to have to ask you to please wrap up your video call so the other passengers can sleep."

MJ: "Yeah, sorry. We'll end it right now."

As the stewardess walks away, Gwen lets out a tired yawn; her brain itching for some beauty sleep.

Gwen: "Well, it's past my bedtime anyway. Plus I've got band rehearsal tomorrow. Talk later?"

MJ: "Alright, won't keep you up."

Peter: "Yeah, we better sign off. People are starting to give us the evil eye."

MJ: "Night Gwen, take care."

Gwen: "Night guys. Good luck with your audition MJ."

Gwen signs off the video chat, so Peter closes his laptop. Mary Jane lifts her blindfold over her eyes to get some shuteye; her head leaning against Peter's shoulder as she dozes off. Though Parker's relationship with MJ is platonic nowadays, he can't help but smile as they both fall asleep and nap together, while the plane proceeds its midnight expedition.
