Like every morning for the past four days since Harry was working he felt a slight sickness and light headed just thinking of having to get dressed and going to the office, possibly seeing him.
Until now the only time he has seen him was on his first day on Monday when Louis came into the meeting room and introduced himself. Harry had a hard time keeping himself together feeling all kinds of emotions rushing through his veins seeing him standing there as if his past never happened. He looked confident and Harry felt small although he was taller than him, but by now it didn't have the effect it had when they were still in highschool. His appearance threw Harry completely off track, he was haunted by the constant guilt of what he had done to him although he seemed fine now, he felt envious because Louis was the outcast, the nerd, the little boy everyone threw insults at without a care once and now he had everything and was probably the most successful one out of everyone of their year. And the worst feeling that followed him day in, day out was the attraction towards him.
He was terrified seeing him, was it because he feared he could see a crack in the facade Louis might kept up and just pretended everything was fine and that he really had ulterior motives hiring him and Zayn wanting to get revenge, or was it because he wanted to see him being stunned by his beauty and his powerful appearance. Since the moment he saw him stepping out of the elevator Harry knew he was in deep shit and he fought against it- he tried to distract himself with alcohol, sex and video games- but Louis' face was constantly burnt in his brain.
With a deep sigh he got out of bed and did his usual morning routine, catching himself how he took some extra time washing his face, styling his hair and choosing clothes- which ended in realising he still had nothing proper to wear so he snuck into Liam's room and stole a polo shirt and proper jeans from him.
"Zayn? Are you ready?" He called into the hallway after getting two coffees done.
"Two minutes!" Zayn shouted back and Harry sighed plopping down at the dining table.
It weren't two minutes but almost ten and Harry looked at his watch continuously until his eyes were glued to the digits eventually, knowing they were late already.
"Z, come on!" He called again just as Zayn's door opened and he came outside.
"Why are you stressing so much?" He asked, walking past him and Harry got up now as well putting on his shoes. "We've got flextime."
"Yes, but I don't want to arrive way later than everyone else in my first week. Niall already hates me, I don't want to give him any reason to hate me even more." Harry muttered.
"Can you blame him?" Zayn asked.
"Oh, now you're admitting what we did was shit? A few weeks ago you didn't give a fuck." Harry said with raised eyebrows as they left the flat.
"I still don't and I still hate that little fucker and his stupid best friend, but I had a few talks with Liam and if I don't change my attitude and shit he'll leave me. And he might have opened my eyes a little bit that what we were doing was really shit, no matter how we reasoned it." Zayn explained with a shrug.
"Do you feel bad?" Harry wondered.
"What do you think?" Zayn quirked an eyebrow.
"No, you don't." Harry sighed.
"No, I don't. Maybe I would if it was anyone else, dunno." Zayn said.
"Why do you hate him so much?" Harry asked.
